My results
Aragon AI turns your selfies and regular photos into professional headshots. Here are some of the real images I sent to the service:

These are the AI-generated results I got from Aragon AI:

I have to say, these aren’t the best AI headshots I’ve seen. The poses look a bit off, and some images feel uncanny and don’t look much like me.
Still, a few images came out pretty close.
For example, this one is one of the best results I got from Aragon:

Unfortunately, it still looks a bit tired and bored. It does look like me, but something feels off.
Here’s another one, with a side-by-side comparison of how I look in real life versus the AI version:

Here’s another one:

Here’s one more:

We’re definitely close. These results would have been amazing back in 2021 or 2022, but now they feel a bit too AI. The images do look like me, but there’s an unnatural vibe in each one that I can’t ignore.
Maybe for LinkedIn, it wouldn’t matter, since people mostly see a small icon of the headshot.
One big problem with Aragon headshots is the weird hand gestures. For example, this image looks so awkward—it almost seems like I’m flipping the bird:

Also, if you look closely, my facial expression is pretty intense. But this is subtle, and it highlights the main problem with tools like this.
The AI just isn’t good enough to create an image that looks exactly like you—at least not with Aragon AI.
Try BetterPic: The Best Aragon Alternative
Since I’m not happy with the headshots from Aragon, I have to suggest a different option.
I’ve spent over $2,700 on AI headshot generators and tried them all—just to save you time and money.
The best AI headshot generator is BetterPic. In my experience, at least.

BetterPic creates sharp, very realistic images with natural-looking skin, teeth, and eyes.
Here are some before-and-after style AI headshots I got from BetterPic:

The first one was my LinkedIn profile picture when I made this post.
BetterPic also lets you get a human edit on your images. Just pick an image and request changes, and a professional photo editor will handle it for you.

This way, you can get at least one perfect image of yourself, with all edits done correctly. I used this feature to remove a necklace from one of my photos.
Here’s the original headshot:

And here’s the edited one:

As you can see, the necklace is completely gone—perfectly!
This is something you just can’t do with Aragon AI. Even though Aragon has some basic edits, BetterPic clearly wins here.
BetterPic also offers AI edits in addition to the human edit feature.
For example, I made several images of myself in the same setting but with different outfits.

Isn’t that cool? The AI changed my clothes, but everything else stayed almost exactly the same.
Here are the editing options in BetterPic:

Isn’t that great? You can use AI to fix failed images or enhance the ones you already have.
How to Use Aragon AI
If you still want to try Aragon AI, here’s how to use it.
First, go to this page. Click “Create your headshots now” and sign up for the service.

Select your age, gender, eye color, hair color, and ethnicity:

Choose the style you want your images to have.

Next comes the hardest part: uploading your images so the AI can learn what you look like. Make sure to read the instructions carefully.

Make sure your photos are clear and keep a neutral expression—no funny faces. Don’t upload many similar shots taken at the same time. When you’re ready, just drag and drop your images into the upload area.

Double-check your details and click “Submit.” Then wait for the AI to process your photos.

This usually takes around 20 to 40 minutes.

When your images are ready, you’ll get an email like this:

Click the link to view your pictures and enjoy.
You can also do some basic edits in Aragon. If something looks off, you can try fixing it with the editing tools. They let you change the background, remove artifacts, upload a new background, and more.
However, when I tested it, nothing happened when I clicked the “Edit” button…

As I mentioned, BetterPic is a much better tool than Aragon AI.
Aragon might have been one of the first to enter the game, but it’s no longer among the top products. Not even close, to be honest!

Pros
- Fast: Took about 30 minutes to get my headshots, much quicker than most other tools.
- Realistic: Most images look professional and lifelike.
- Built-in AI editing: You can fix small issues like stray hairs or lighting without starting over.
- Cheaper than a photographer: Get dozens of edited photos quickly at a fraction of the cost.
Cons
- Better options exist: Other tools can give similar or better results for the same price.
- Slightly artificial: Some images look a bit too smooth or vacant.
- Pricey: $30+ per set isn’t ideal for everyone.
To take home
Aragon AI is a decent AI headshot tool. It’s fast, easy to use, and offers a variety of polished styles without a studio or makeup. I wouldn’t have believed this was possible back in 2020 or 2021.
But it’s not perfect. Aragon sometimes struggles with facial accuracy—odd smiles, mismatched hair, or small artifacts can appear. Their refund policy isn’t great either.
In my experience, BetterPic is sharper. The images are closer to real likeness, features are clearer, and they even offer a human editor for finishing touches. That personal touch makes a big difference.
Aragon is fine for quick, professional-looking shots. But for the best results, BetterPic is the way to go—and it’s not much more expensive.
