Then answer the basic questions, such as your age:

Aragon lets you add glasses to your headshots, but I skipped it since it’s not my style.
Then, it’s time to upload some images to the tool. First, read the instructions:

Once you’ve signed up, you will see a view like this:

Choose your gallery from the dashboard:

Hit “Start training”. This will send your images to the “AI photographer” to train on.
It will take a while for the AI to generate the headshots. I think it was once again something like 45–60 minutes.

That’s amazing! Also, I love the lighting and attire. The lighting and high quality in these images are better than in any other tool I think.
The biggest problem is that my forehead is too tall in some of the images. You probably can’t even tell that, though. It’s just me because I’ve seen myself so many times in the mirror.
Also, there are some artifacts, such as messed-up teeth and too-smooth skin:
But those are subtle—something you won’t pay attention to.

Let me show you my experience with AI Suitup, that is, how to use it and my results.
To use AI Suitup, first, head over to this page.
This is the AI headshot generator that you can upload selfies and turn into professional images.
I recommend choosing the Professional plan because there, you’ll get 100 headshots.
Then read the instructions.
Then, let the AI know about yourself. This helps it create more accurate results.
Fill in your email (to receive the headshots), gender, hairstyle, and if you wear glasses or not.
Upload your selfies. You can choose from your mobile device’s camera roll, for example.
Sometimes, the upload fails simply because the images aren’t high enough in quality.
If this happens, choose another image.
Then, on top of uploading 15 selfies, the tool asks you to upload the best picture of yourself. The AI will use this as a base image.
Once you’ve uploaded your images, it takes a second for the AI to validate them.
Once the validation is complete, hit “send.”
This sends your photos to AI Suitup servers for the AI to take the headshots.
Wait for an hour or two.

My Experience
I will now show you how the Multiverse AI performs. If you feel like it, you can follow these steps or just read along and see the results.
Spoiler: this is hands down the best tool that I tested. The images are something I could use in my LinkedIn profile or such.
Anyway, let me show you how to use it.
To start generating professional AI headshots, head over to this page and click “Get your photos”.
Once you’ve completed this step, you will see a view that prompts you to add images of yourself.
Please understand these instructions. Don’t take a series of selfies!
It’s time to upload the images.
I will use the same images in every tool on this list to compare the results. Here are the images of myself:
As you can see, those are relatively close-up headshots or selfies.
The Multiverse AI has an editor you can use to crop the images. Go through every image and crop it as per the rules.
One issue I had, though, was that the tool complained about almost every image I dropped into it. That’s because the images were too small.
If you get a similar error, just use this image upscaler to make your images bigger. You can drag and drop your image there, and download the bigger version.
After you’ve done this, you can drop an image into the Multiverse AI editor again.
Do this with every image until you have 12 images in! If you don’t have this many images, just take some in different scenes with your mobile device. Don’t upload a series of selfies!
Once you’ve uploaded your images, enter your email to get notified when the images are ready (and specify your gender.)
Then it’s time to hit “Upload” and wait.
In my case, the AI took about 60 minutes to create the images. You can close the window because this all happens on the internet. You can even close your computer after this step.

I tested the team version (although I just generated images of myself with it).
Let me tell you about my experience with this one.
My Experience
To start using DreamWave, head over to their homepage and click “Get headshots for yourself.” Or if you want to, you can use the team option to get pictures for your team.
If you use the individual option, then just drag and drop your images to the view.
But as I mentioned, I tried the team version.
To use this version, just enter your team details.
Also, to get uniform results, you need to choose the headshot style you want your team to have.
Then hit “Create team photoshoot:”
Once you sign up as a team, you can send a link to your teammates to use the service.
It’s time to choose the images.
Now, I’m acting as a team member who just received a link to the service.
Once again, you need to be careful not to choose similar images or images that don’t clearly show your face. I’ll use the same images I’ve used throughout this post.
Then just choose your gender and optionally your primary ethnic background:
Then hit “Save and Generate Photoshoot.”
This process will take a while.
The reason these AI tools take some time is that there’s a lot of traffic. On top of that, the AI model must train itself with your images to produce accurate results.
For me, it took about 2 hours before I received an email that the AI photoshoot was complete:

In total, there are about 300 images I’ve created with DreamWave. I’d say, overall, I find these impressive and very accurate-looking pictures of me.
But the problems arise once I zoom in a bit closer.
For example, please have a closer look at this picture:
It looks robotic. The skin is too smooth, and also, the stare is a bit too blank to my liking. That’s a common issue with most of the AI headshot generators, though. But still something worth noticing.
While these pictures are amazing, for most of them, there’s just something off the closer you look at it.

Remember that the AI is not a magician. It doesn’t generate quality images unless you provide it with good images of yourself.
Although you don’t need professional images as the input (that’s the whole point here) you still need to make sure those images are clear and that your face is visible.
This tool was a lot more lenient with my input images than The Multiverse AI. It didn’t complain about any of my input images. Also, this one only required 5–8 images.

After choosing the images, select your gender and eye color to assist the AI.
And then just hit “Start.” It couldn’t be easier than that!
It took about 30 minutes for the AI to generate my images. However, some customers have reported up to 45 minutes of waiting time.
Remember that this process takes place on the internet. You don’t have to sit and wait for the images to appear. It’s ok to close the window or your computer because nothing happens locally on your machine.

To me, these look a bit more versatile than The Multiverse AI.
But at the same time, the image quality isn’t that great. Also, I think this tool didn’t capture my facial features as well as The Multiverse AI.
That being said, it’s still very close!
When I scrolled down further, I found more awesome AI headshots of myself:
Oh, and one thing that I love about Prophotos is that it allows you to rework an image.
For example, I like the brown jacket image of myself the most. Thus, I will use AI to generate a bunch of those:

That’s something I couldn’t tell if it was me or not. It looks exactly like me (except I don’t wear fancy clothes).
Epic, to say the least!
But feel free to decide. I used the same input images of myself with all these tools, so it’s easy to compare the results. I place this tool as #2 on the list based on my opinion!

- There’s a reworking feature to improve one of the AI images.

The next tool on my list is called ProfileBakery.
This tool takes 6–15 images of you and returns 30–60 professional headshots in different lighting, clothing, and scenes.
Let’s see how it works.

To test this headshot generator, head over to their homepage and click on “Start now.”
I must admit that this instantly looks like a new startup based on the looks of the UI. The call-to-actions are boring and give me a sensation of “This is just another AI generator that uses the same technology as the others.”
But hey, let’s give it a shot!
The input image instructions are good and clear, though:
To use this tool, don’t just include random selfies, blurry images, images with others, etc.
Use clear images in good lighting with different clothing and scenes.
I used images from my mobile device’s camera roll.
Here are some of the images that I used. These are real images of myself:
Uploading them is simple. Just drag and drop them into the view.
Also, on top of these images, the tool asks you to add one “baseline image.” This is the basic facial expression you’ll have in your output photos.
Make sure to choose one where you smile if you want to have images with a lot of smiles as the output.
Once you’ve chosen your images, you need to wait. For me, it took about an hour. But for some, it might take 3–4 hours.
You don’t have to wait, though. You can just close your window, and the email system will notify you once the images are ready.
Once the email arrives, you will find your AI images in a shared Google Drive folder.
For some reason, it feels strange that the images are in a shared drive folder… Those other AI tools have their own private built-in libraries. But whatever. Let’s look at the image quality.

These look awesome!
By a quick look, there’s no way to tell it’s AI.
But the more (and closer) I look at it, the more 3D character vibes I get. But to be fair, this is the issue with most tools like this.
Overall, these images have a nice background variation and blur. Also, the clothing, skin, and hair look awesome. There are also different poses.
The only problem is that the images look like 3D character-like images of myself. But I’m not sure if it’s just me who notices.

Last but not least, let me show you one decent free AI headshot generator tool called DrHeadshot.com.
This tool lets you create a free headshot.
Just upload your input images to the image view on the homepage:

I went with the Light Blue Shirt. Then just hit “Generate Headshot” to let the AI create one for free for you.
If my memory serves me right, this took about a minute or two.
After that, here’s what I got:
As you can see, it has watermarks. But you can see if it’s something you’d like to create more of or not.
For me, this looks decent. It’s a lot similar to what Profile Bakery created. But also, there’s a lot of “fakeness” in the image. My skin is too smooth, and it looks more like a 3D avatar that isn’t even supposed to look real.
It’s not even close to what those paid tools can create.
My Take on AI Headshot Generators
AI headshot generation is surprisingly good. This was not a thing just a year ago, and now these tools are nailing it.
The only thing I don’t like about these products is that they cost quite a bit.
Usually, professional headshots are around $20-$50. While that’s about 95% cheaper than hiring a professional, the problem is that you have no guarantee that the images will be good.
For instance, if you look at some of the results I got with the tools on this list, you can tell that those look 3Dish or fake in many ways.
Be careful.
I recommend using the top tools on this list. Also, use as many images of yourself as possible.
Also, ensure you don’t wear a cap or a headset in your images. I did, and you can see from some headshots that the AI thinks the headset is a body part… That looks silly.
