Let’s go!

1. MyRoomDesigner.ai

MyRoomDesigner.AI helps you design rooms and create mood boards using AI. It’s easy, fast, and practical.

Let me show you my results with this great product to see if it works.

Key Features

Here are the main features of MyRoomDesigner.AI:

  • AI Redesign: Upload a photo or sketch to get instant room makeovers.
  • Virtual Staging: Add furniture to empty spaces for real estate or design projects.
  • Mood Boards: Create boards with color palettes, decor ideas, and product suggestions.
  • Style Options: Choose from modern, rustic, traditional, and more.
  • Live Chat: Get real-time design tips and suggestions.
  • Cost Estimates: See estimated prices for design items.
  • Background Removal: Clean up your photos for better visuals.
  • Image Upscaling: Increase image resolution for high-quality results.

Now, let me share my results and experiences with it.

To try it, first sign up here.

Click “Design room.”

Upload an image of your room, choose the design mode, select your room type, and describe what you want to change in your space.

The AI automatically generates a room description for enhancement.

You can edit it if you’d like, but it’s ready to go—just hit “Generate” and wait a minute.

Here are the AI-generated designs I got from this awesome tool:

Pretty amazing, right?

Unlike most AI images, these have very little weirdness—everything actually makes sense.

If you can’t see them clearly, here’s one large image for you:

Here’s the original space:

Pretty cool, right?

The original room looks like a mess compared to the AI results. It kept the room’s shape and key features but redesigned it almost perfectly.

That said, this level of quality isn’t always the case.

For comparison, here’s what a more generic tool like ReImagineHome produces:

Yeah… That’s not great. Only a couple of things changed, and now the room looks odd with all the strangely bent objects, etc.

But that’s not how MyRoomDesigner works.

It lets you recreate your favorite designs with a slightly different twist. Just click “Create similar” on any of your designs to try this.

Here are the recreated results:

Remember, you can also enhance the image quality with the Upscale option:

This is handy because the default images are not the sharpest.

For example, look how much better the image looks now!

MyRoomDesigner also lets you create mood boards, which are essential for interior design.

Click “Add to designer” to add your room to a mood board.

It then gives you a blank canvas with your design on it.

Click the “+” icon to add related objects to the images and create your mood board.

Here are some random objects I added to the mood board:

You can publish the mood board if you’d like:

Isn’t that awesome? It’s intuitive, practical, and super helpful. Plus, it gives amazing results for redesigning your room.

2. Fiverr Interior Design Services

Now, let’s compare the AI-generated designs with a real interior designer service from Fiverr.

This platform makes it just as easy as using AI interior designers.

All you have to do is pick a designer, send them images of your room, tell them what you want, and wait for a day or two. That’s it.

Let me show you my results so you can compare them with the AI designs I just created.

Key Features

Here are some benefits of using Fiverr:

  • No monthly fees—pay once, no subscriptions
  • Secure payments—you’re only charged when satisfied
  • Revisions included—request changes if needed
  • Refunds available—get your money back if you’re not happy
  • Fast delivery—most orders are completed in a few days
  • Affordable—cheaper than ongoing software costs

Now, let me show you what I got from Fiverr.

My Experience

I paid $180 for a gig with the best interior designer on the platform, Hoang.

I first checked Hoang’s page. It looked the most promising, so I had to give her a try.

I sent her a message to share my goal of redesigning my office.

Speaking of messaging, this is what Fiverr excels at. It handles the whole process. Instead of having to guess who has the right skills or search for contact emails, you can simply search for the service you need and contact people directly in seconds, no connection requests or invitations needed.

Super cool!

I told Hoang I wanted to redesign my small office space.

She replied almost right off the bat.

As she requested, I sent her the images of my office space.

Hoang sent me an offer to create interior designs for my office.

I reviewed the offer and agreed. Then, I added more details about my project and paid for the gig.

A couple of days later, I got a reply from Hoang saying the designs were ready:

Here are the results:

Isn’t that amazing?

But that’s not all. Fiverr wants to make sure you’re 100% happy with the results, so they offer revisions on the designs.

I didn’t feel the need for revisions because the results were great. However, to test the whole process, I asked for a few small changes to make the space a bit more minimalistic.

She agreed quickly, and the next day, I received my revised versions.

Here they are:

That’s even better!

I realized I could’ve requested one more edit, but these designs were so good that I decided not to. Instead, I approved the results in my Fiverr delivery dashboard.

And that’s a wrap for the gig. Everything happens on Fiverr, which is really convenient. The process is smooth and straightforward.

Here’s how easy it is to do interior designs on Fiverr:

  • Find a freelancer.
  • Agree on a gig.
  • Pay for it.
  • Share project details.
  • Wait.
  • Ask for edits.
  • Approve.
  • Enjoy!

It’s simple and efficient.

To be honest, AI interior designers are good, but the results aren’t fully customizable. The rooms are always slightly different from the originals. Plus, the tools can get expensive with monthly subscriptions, and you might forget to cancel them.

That’s why hiring a freelancer for your room design is a better option for many people.

Visualize AI is an AI architect and interior design tool that’s just epic.

  • Interior Design AI: Redesign rooms from images or drawings in 30 seconds.
  • Product Design AI: Reimagine furniture designs from photos or sketches.

Let me share my experience with this tool next.

My Experience

To use the tool, sign up here. You’ll see the dashboard like this:

Let’s start by trying the Architect feature.

A view like this opens up:

Now, I’ll turn my sketch into a real design using AI.

Here’s my input image (which I also created with AI):

You can also start designs from scratch—no drawing skills required!

Just adjust the settings and add instructions to guide the AI.

It takes about a minute for the AI to create the design:

Here are the outputs I got back:

Pretty impressive, right? I transformed a simple sketch into a great-looking house and scene.

Now, let’s try it with a hand-drawn image to see if the AI can still work its magic:

I used these settings:

Here are the results:

Hmm… That’s cool, but I’ll admit they’re not exactly what I had in mind.

Still, they could be great for inspiration.

Now, let’s test the interior design feature.

Here’s my input image:

Here are the settings I’ve chosen:

And here are the results:

Pretty cool, right? It’s definitely a modern room. But there’s a lot going on in the images. I like it, but at the same time, it’s not the best design I’ve seen.

Let’s try another round of bedroom designs. This time, we’ll use the “Zen” style with no extra instructions:

These are the results:

That’s a nice Zen style, but once again, it clearly has the look of an AI-generated design.

If you want better quality in your results, be sure to use the Upscale feature:

Now, let’s try the product design feature.

Let’s create an image of a chair using this feature.

Here’s my sketch image:

Here are the settings I’ll use:

Here are the results the tool gave me:

These look great overall!

The only issue is under the chair—it seems like the AI didn’t quite understand what I meant there.

Still, I’d give it an 8/10. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty close to what I had in mind.

4. Homevisualizer AI

Homevisualizer AI designs homepage

Homevisualizer AI is an interior design tool that turns your text descriptions into realistic designs. Simply describe your vision, and it will create images of your space.

Let’s see if it lives up to the hype.

Key Features

  • Transforms text into realistic interior designs
  • High-resolution, high-quality image outputs
  • Style Fusion: Turns sketches into real designs
  • Auto Style: Automatically styles your space
  • Image Enhancer: Improves low-resolution images
  • Regenerate: Creates alternate versions of a design
  • Developer-friendly with API access

My Experience

To get started, you’ll need to sign up for a free plan.

I tried creating a kitchen design using my sample image:

The goal was to replicate the style from the image above in the kitchen below:

I simply uploaded an image, set the input type to “kitchen,” and described how I wanted it to look by typing it out.

That’s it.

Here’s the result I received about 30 seconds later:

Isn’t that impressive?

Here, you can compare the images side by side:

Next, I tried the Style Fusion feature—it lets you blend a hand-drawn sketch with a real room to create a stunning design. Here’s the sketch I made (yeah, I know it’s a bit rough 😅):

Here’s the inspiration image I’m using for the sketch:

open livingroom with gray ceiling and furniture and lot of light

This is the style and vibe I want for my living room.

Now, here’s how I’m using the tool:

Using the visualizer tool in Homevisualizer to combine drawing with a real design

After waiting for about 60 seconds, here’s the result:

A mix of a drawn and real image of an interior design

It looks cool. But to be honest, I expected it to look more like a real space, not just a drawing.

Then I realized I needed to set the creativity level higher to make it look like a real image.

Creativity level in AI

Let’s give it another shot!

After about a minute, this is the result:

As you can see, it includes elements from my sketch, like the mountains, TV, and stand. To make it even closer to the drawing, you can create a new prompt and try again.

Pretty cool, right?

Pros

  • High-quality, creative, and realistic results
  • Great for non-designers—super inspiring
  • Packed with essential features: variations, merging, enhancing, etc.
  • Fast generation (15–120 seconds per design)

Cons

  • Sometimes odd objects appear in images (common with all AI tools)
  • Some designs take a bit longer to process than others

Pricing

HomeVisualizer AI pricing table
  • Standard: $12/mo to get 250 renders per month
  • Pro: $21/mo to get 5,000 renders per month
  • Enterprise: Contact sales for custom renders

Bottom Line

I’m a big fan of Homevisualizer AI—it lets me design like a pro, even without any design skills.

Just tell the AI what you want, and it takes care of the rest. You can start from scratch or use an existing image as your base.

5. ChatGPT

Thanks to the latest AI image model OpenAI just released, you can now use ChatGPT to create interior designs for your space.

Key Features

  • Free to use for at least 5 images (at the time of writing)
  • Easy to use—just tell the AI what you want to do with your room, and that’s it.
  • Unlimited customizations—only your imagination limits you. You could design your house on the moon if you like.

My Experience

Let me show you some designs I created with ChatGPT.

For example, here’s an image I found online of a Living Room:

So, I asked ChatGPT to make the space less crowded and a bit darker.

Here’s the result I got:

Alright, that’s a bit too dark for my taste.

I’ll ask the AI to make it brighter and more minimalistic instead.

Here’s what I got from the AI:

Impressive, right?

Of course, you can also ask the AI to tidy up your space, remove objects, and do a lot more.

For example, let’s ask ChatGPT to remove the sofa from the image.

Here’s the result:

Isn’t that cool?

However, one thing you might notice is that the AI doesn’t just remove the sofa from the image—it also creates a new one.

In fact, this happens with all your images. It’s not just an editor that modifies specific parts of your photos; it generates a whole new photo.

This can be a bit of an issue because the new image is never an exact copy of the original. There’s always something missing.

Keep this in mind. I think all AI interior design tools do this, but ChatGPT seems to do it more often than others I’ve tested.

That said, ChatGPT is also the easiest to use (and you’re probably already using it).

So, why not give it a try?

At the very least, you can create images with it and then hand them over to a real interior designer.

Pros

  • Easy to use—just tell the AI what you’d say to a real interior designer.
  • Free—you can use ChatGPT for free for a while. I’m not sure if there’s a limit on how many designs you can make, but I got about 3–4 images with my free plan last time.
  • Customizations—you can ask the AI to do whatever comes to mind.
  • Fast—just wait 30–60 seconds to get your interior designs.

Cons

  • Creates a new image—While ChatGPT can “edit” images, it actually doesn’t. It generates a similar new image with the changes. This means room colors, placements, and other details will always change, whether you want it to or not.
  • Limited—ChatGPT’s free plan only lets you create a few images (about 3–5). If you want more results and customizations, you’ll need to pay for it, which could be overkill if you’re not planning to use it elsewhere.

Pricing

  • Free: Basic GPT-4o mini access with limited tools and web search.
  • Plus: More features, better models, and GPT-4.5 preview for $20/month.
  • Pro: Unlimited access to all models and tools, plus advanced features for $200/month.

To Take Home

ChatGPT is the easiest and most straightforward option for interior design.

It’s fast and provides decent results.

However, I’d still recommend using dedicated tools for better results and more specific customizations that actually work.
