1. BetterPic

BetterPic is my favorite AI headshot generator right now.

This tool creates wonderful-looking profile pictures for your social media.

It got me the best results.

But that’s not all — this AI tool offers insane customization, especially the human editing feature.

A real editor fine-tunes your photos to look like you (part of the Expert plan).

Now, check out my results!

👉 Try BetterPic

My Experience

I got the Expert plan for BetterPic for the human edit feature.

The tool is super easy to use:

Sign up here and read these rules.

Then let it know your name, ethnicity, use cases, gender, and eye color.

Pick a bunch of styles:

You can choose up to three which is what I recommend.

Then read the instructions on how to upload the right types of images to the tool.

Here are real images of myself that I sent over:

After selecting my images, the tool graded them and removed any low-resolution ones.

Then, it was time to create the headshots!

After 30 or so minutes, this is what I got:

That is so cool, isn’t it?

I even use one of those as my LinkedIn picture.

Here I’ve rendered some more results as bigger images:

But I’d be lying if I said all the images are great.

As BetterPic notes, most look good, some are decent, and a few miss the mark.

For example, this one has subtle artifacts on my face and teeth — I can definitely see them.

You can fix those AI artifacts — just click the BP AI Edit button.

You can request a manual edit from the BetterPic team to make the image truly look like you.

That’s super handy — especially for teams needing uniform images.

I love it. A lot to be honest.

👉 Try BetterPic

  • Faster than most tools (25 minutes vs. 1–2 hours)
  • Highly realistic images with just 8 input photos

Cons:

  • Not instant — 25 minutes might feel slow to some

  • Basic: $35 (one time)
  • Pro: $39 (one time)
  • Expert: $79 (one time)

Then let’s move on to other epic AI profile picture makers.

2. Portrait Pal

Portrait Pal turns your regular selfies into epic profile pictures that look exactly like you.

This is my favorite tool on the list. It produces the most realistic results out of the bunch of AI profile picture makers I’ve tested.

Let me show you my results with this product.

👉 Try Portrait Pal

My Experience with Portrait Pal

Here are some real images of myself:

Here you see my AI-generated profile pictures made by PortraitPal:

That’s epic, isn’t it? Those look super realistic and professional at the same time.

For most of the images, it’s hard to tell if it’s me or not. But of course, for some, there are still some artifacts and things that it missed.

If you want to create your profile pictures with AI, open PortraitPal’s website and click Create Your Headshots Now:

Then sign up for the service and start creating.

The tool works by asking you a couple of questions to better understand what you look like. These include your gender, eye color, hair color, and things like that:

Answer all these questions accurately to get the most accurate results.

Then read the rules for uploading your images. Make sure you’re well-lit and clearly visible with no others in the pictures.

This way the AI understands what you look like and can produce the most realistic results. In this step, you’re essentially training the AI to understand what your face looks like.

To upload your images, drag them into this view:

Here are my input images:

By the way, don’t worry about your selfies. Those don’t need to look professional—that’s the whole point of these generators. Just upload regular selfies from your camera roll.

After uploading your images, you need to wait for a while. You can close the window—everything takes place in the web servers so you don’t have to sit there and wait.

Once your images are processed, you’ll receive an email with a link to your photos.

Here are mine:

Pretty cool, huh? These are amazing to my eyes and look very close to me. Perhaps the only problem is that sometimes I look a bit too young, as I’m no longer 20 but closer to 30. But that’s fine. The AI won’t nail everything in one go.

Make sure to give it a try.

Pros

  • Quick: Profile pictures are ready in 30–45 minutes — much faster than waiting days or weeks for a professional photographer.
  • Realistic: The results are incredibly lifelike. Even my grandma didn’t believe me when I said the AI generated them.
  • Variety: Offers a broad range of images with different settings, lighting, and outfits.

Cons

  • User-Friendly: The tool is easy to use, with features like uploading images twice and a more flexible reject policy.
  • No Editing: It doesn’t offer in-tool editing — just viewing and downloading. For editing options, check out the next tool on the list.

Pricing

  • Starter: $35 (one-time)
  • Basic: $45 (one-time)
  • Premium: $75 (one-time)

Portrait Pal creates super realistic profile images, and I’m really happy with most of my results.

There’s a wide variety of styles and poses to choose from. I never expected AI headshot generators to be this advanced already. Of course, they’re not perfect and some images might look a bit off. But for the most part, this is awesome!

3. The Multiverse AI

Get 10% off with code “ARTTURI”

The Multiverse AI turns your selfies into professional headshots quickly.

You get 100 headshots in different styles, perfect for LinkedIn and resumes.

Let me show you what it does and what kinds of results I got.

Key features

Here’s a sneak peek at the core features of The Multiverse AI:

  • Generates 100 professional headshots in various styles.
  • Customizable backgrounds, outfits, and styles.
  • Quick turnaround with images delivered within hours.
  • Ideal for LinkedIn, resumes, and team photos.

My experience and results

Using The Multiverse AI for creating profile pictures couldn’t be easier.

First, sign up here.

Then read the instructions:

Once you’ve understood the instructions and uploaded your images, the AI processes them for a while. After 30–120 minutes, you will receive an email that your AI-generated profile pictures are ready.

These are the images that I used as my input:

Real images of myself.

And these are the AI-generated profile pictures:

I mean c’mon! Isn’t that amazing? Looks realistic and exactly like I do.

Also, one of the features I love about The Multiverse AI is that it lets you create custom images based on your custom input.

Here I told the AI to create images of myself wearing a white shirt:

Once again, that’s incredible!

In total, the tool generated 100 profile images.

Now one of the issues that you may encounter is that the images are cropped too close to your face.

Luckily, the team has decided to fix this and you can expand your image with AI.

Here I’m doing this for one of my images:

Before expanding, the image is almost entirely a close-up shot of my face. But after the expansion, it’s an image that shows my head as a whole and also my suit.

This is handy if there’s an image you like but that you can’t really use because the face is too zoomed-in.

Overall, what an amazing tool!

Pros

  • The most accurate results I’ve seen.
  • AI edits are available to expand images.
  • Create custom images with custom instructions.
  • Remove the background from your images.
  • Fix teeth and eyes with a brush tool (because sometimes the AI doesn’t quite nail that in the outputs.)

Cons

  • Slow waiting times—up to 2 hours.
  • Sometimes inaccurate results where the teeth and eyes might look strange.
  • No free trial is available. You have to pay to see the results.

Pricing

  • 100 AI profile pictures: $29 (10% off with code ARTTURI)

4. DreamWave AI

DreamWave AI offers both artistic and realistic profile pictures.

It uses advanced AI and lets you customize your photos.

I’ve tested this tool so that you don’t have to. Let’s see my results and my opinion of it.

Key features

Here’s a sneak peek at the main features of DreamWave:

  • Both artistic and realistic styles.
  • Advanced AI for high-quality images.
  • Detailed customization options.
  • Suitable for social media and professional use.

My experience and results

Using DreamWave is similar to all the other products on this list: Upload your images and wait.

This tool gave me results like this:

And this:

Just as a comparison, here are the original images I used:

One of the features I like about the DreamWave AI profile maker is that you can use AI to edit your images.

This is handy because sometimes the AI makes the teeth and eyes look strange.

For example, here’s a before-after shot where I used AI to make my teeth look more realistic:

On the left, there’s clearly something strange in my teeth that makes them look completely messed up—thanks to the AI. But after using the AI feature to fix it, the right-hand side image looks already a lot better.

Overall, this is also another epic profile picture maker. It generates similar images and then also a bunch of different styles with different lighting, clothes, poses, and whatnot. Also, as you can see, the tool lets you use AI to edit the images.

Pros

  • AI editing features that allow you to fix artifacts for free
  • Free trial (with a queue) that lets you ask for a bunch of AI images (you have to wait for days, though.)
  • Realistic images with different poses, clothing, and attire.

Cons

  • A bit more inaccurate than the best tools. There are usually issues with teeth and eyes.
  • This one is also slow. The free trial takes days to generate the images. The paid plan takes 30–120 minutes.
  • It’s costly to generate images considering that there’s no “instant free trial.”

Pricing

  • Free: $0 (with a long queue)
  • Starter: $35
  • Standard: $59
  • Best Value: $99

Profile Bakery makes creating profile pictures easy and fast. You can choose from various styles and customize backgrounds and outfits.

Let’s see my results with it!

Key features

Here are the core features:

  1. Multiple styles including professional and creative.
  2. Simple upload and generation process.
  3. Quick delivery of your profile pictures.
  4. Customizable features like changing background and attire.

My experience and results

Profile Bakery is easy to use. Just read these instructions about the images you should use:

Then just upload and send your images and wait.

After about an hour or two, you’ll receive an email link to view your images.

Here are my example photos:

Here are the original images I used for comparison:

Here are some more AI-generated pictures:

This one is pretty good with lighting, background, and attire. But my characteristics aren’t 100% accurate. I have way darker hair and beard than in real life.

Also, this tool does not allow you to edit the images directly like the other tools because the images are in a Google Drive folder.

Pros

  • Fast results. Instead of having to wait (and pay) for a photographer, you get your images in just hours after uploading.
  • The results are realistic—no AI vibes.

Cons

  • Google Drive share with no built-in editing options for images that aren’t a good match.
  • The UI is a bit confusing—I wasn’t really sure where to find the images, or how I edit them, and also a bit annoyed by all the extra features that they tried to sell…

6. ProPhotos AI

ProPhotos AI creates professional headshots with lots of styles to choose from. The rework feature allows you to create different versions of the ones you like the most.

Similar to other products on the list, I’ve tested this one and now it’s time to check my results.

Key features

Here are the main features of ProPhotos AI:

  • Focus on professional-grade headshots.
  • User tools for photo fine-tuning and editing.
  • Range of styles from formal to casual.
  • Secure and private image generation.

My experience and results

Similar to the other profile picture generators on the list, this one asks you to upload a bunch of images of yourself. Make sure your face is visible and that there’s variability in the images.

Here are some of the result images that the AI created:

Here are some more.

Just so that you don’t have to scroll back to see what I look like, here are the original images of myself:

Isn’t that amazing?

With completely random images the AI was able to create professional and casual high-quality profile pictures of me.

By the way, this tool doesn’t allow you to edit your images but it lets you auto-rework them.

If there’s one image that you like a lot, you can choose the ReWork Image feature that creates 5–10 copies with a slightly different pose.

I’ve done this for my image where I wear a brown jacket:

Cool!

Pros

  • Fast processing. If my memory serves me correctly, this tool was a bit faster than the others on the list with just 20–30 minutes of waiting.
  • Good results—the profile pictures are something I could use. There are very few “misses” or blemished images.
  • Rework. The rework feature is good if you want to make slightly different copies of your favorite image.

Cons

  • No AI editing—this means that if an image is bad it’s going to stay that way.
  • A bit over-colored images. At least in my case, the tool produced slightly over-lit images and also added some redness to me.

7. HeadshotsByAI

HeadshotsByAI makes realistic headshots fast. You can customize backgrounds and outfits, and it’s affordable for teams.

Key features

Here are the key features of the tool:

  • Creates highly realistic headshots.
  • Customizable elements like background and attire.
  • Rapid generation of headshots.
  • Affordable pricing with team options available.

My experience and results

I generated a bunch of AI images with this one as well.

Firstly, for your convenience, here’s what I look like in real images:

And here are the AI-generated image of myself:

Amazing!

Here’s some more:

Now these look cool. However, one big issue is that this tool gives me a 3D character vibe. It looks like a 3D render if you look at it closer.

Here’s an example:

With a quick look, it looks fantastic (and handsome of course.) But the more you stare at it, you can see that my skin is way too smooth. Also, the suit and lighting make it look like I’m almost some kind of a game character—not a real person.

But whatever, still incredible! Also, if you don’t pay close attention to it, it’s not that big a deal.

Pros

  • Fast results with good lighting, accuracy, and cropping
  • The tool is easy to use. Just upload images and let the AI generate your images.

Cons

  • No edits are available. The tool renders your images as is and there’s no way to edit those if there are AI-made mistakes or blemishes.
  • The 3D vibe in some images. The lighting, skin smoothness, and stare give it a bit of a 3D rendering feeling.

Pricing

  • Basic: $25
  • Standard: $35
  • Premium: $50
