This AI Headshot Generator Is Epic (and Cheap)

I just tested a new AI headshot generator called AI SuitUp and got epic results like this:

Let me show you how to create similar AI headshots for yourself.

Creating AI headshots—step by step

#1 Visit AI SuitUp

First, head over to this page.

This is the AI headshot generator that you can upload selfies and turn into professional images.

#2 Pick a plan

I recommend choosing the Professional plan because there you’ll get 100 headshots.

(AI is always a dice roll. Out of the 100 images, you will get 5–10 you’re satisfied with. With less than 50 images, the number of truly good images would be low.)

#3 Read the instructions

Then read the instructions on how to use the tool.

Here’s what you should keep in mind when choosing the images:

  1. Chest-up close-up: Focus on a close-up that captures the upper part of your body, including your face and shoulders.
  2. Different background: Ensure the background is neutral or professional, not cluttered or too busy.
  3. Good quality: The photo should be high-quality, well-lit, and clear.
  4. Entire face visible: Make sure your full face is visible, without obstructions like glasses, hats, or excessive shadows.

For bad examples, avoid:

  • Taking the photo from too far away or in a crowded setting.
  • Using a background that’s too distracting or informal.

When creating AI-generated headshots, ensure these aspects are considered for a professional outcome.

#4 Add your characteristics

Then let the AI know about yourself. This helps it create more accurate results.

Fill in your email (to receive the headshots), gender, hairstyle, and if you wear glasses or not.

#5 Upload selfies

Then upload your selfies. You can choose from your mobile device’s camera roll, for example.

Sometimes the upload fails simply because the images aren’t high enough in quality.

If this happens, choose another image.

#6 Choose the best picture

Then, on top of uploading 15 selfies, the tool asks you to upload the best picture of yourself. The AI will use this as a base image.

#7 Wait for validation

Once you’ve uploaded your images, it takes a second for the AI to validate them.

#8 Send and wait

Once the validation is complete, hit “send.”

This sends your photos to AI SuitUp servers for the AI to take the headshots.

Then just wait.

#9 Open up the email

Once the AI has made your images, you will receive an email like this:

That’s convenient! You don’t need to wait for the images to generate. I think this took about 60–120 minutes for me.

Then just click the email link and see your headshots.

#10 Enjoy the results

Scroll below to see your headshots.

#11 Like/dislike to filter images

Feel free to use the like/dislike to remove bad images from the gallery.

#12 Save link

Remember to save the email/catalog because you can’t sign in to AI SuitUp. This is the only way to access the images in the future.

AI SuitUp vs. Free AI headshots

I know not everyone is willing to pay for AI headshots (even though I don’t know what sense that makes because real photos cost thousands.)

So let’s compare the AI SuitUp headshots to free AI headshots.

One of my favorite free AI headshot generators is called Supawork.

Here are the headshots I got from it:

That’s just… terrible.

Here are some more:

That looks like a fish wearing a suit.

Of course, some of the free ones are still decent. For example, this one looks close to me:

However, that still looks like a 3D render if you look at it at a close distance.

You can experiment with these free AI headshot tools too. But just don’t expect much from those.

I recommend using paid AI headshot generators if you want to use the images.

If you want headshots, use the AI SuitUp I mentioned in this post.

If you also want customization, for example to your team photos, use a more expensive Betterpic.io instead.

My take

I think AI SuitUp is the best tool for its price. The cheapest plan is just $27 and you’ll get 50 epic headshots for that.

However, if you’re looking for customizations to your images, then you have to try BetterPic or Aragon AI.
