Best Resume Writing Service (I’ve Ever Tested)

I hired a Fiverr freelancer for $90 to write me a professional resume.

But was it worth the investment?

In this post, I’ll share what I got, my experience, and how satisfied I am.

By the way, I’ve also made a video about this topic. Check it out here.

Let’s get started!

My Experience in Short

There are hundreds of resume writers on Fiverr to choose from.

So I started browsing and I ranked talent based on ratings and how well their services matched what I needed.

I found Omar to look like the most promising talent.

So I sent a message to Omar through Fiverr.

Omar quickly responded, asked if I needed a cover letter, and gave me a brief overview of the service.

Then, he sent me an official offer through Fiverr’s system.

The whole process was simple.

Because Fiverr is a trusted platform and Omar had excellent ratings and tons of writing gigs, I was confident this would be a good collaboration.

Once I accepted and paid for the order, Omar sent me a detailed questionnaire to gather all the necessary info about me before crafting the resume.

I liked that he asked insightful questions, ensuring the resume was well-targeted and personalized.

After a day, I got my resume back. Here’s what my new resume looks like:

At first, I thought it looked a bit too basic, but then Omar told me that this is optimized for those ATS systems.

He offered a better-looking resume but told me that it was not suggested because ATS is not good with those.

That’s good to learn!

I almost forgot to mention that I got some extras that I didn’t expect.

It was easy, affordable, and worth $90 to work with Omar. I got exactly what I wanted.

Could not recommend more!

Now, let’s jump deeper into the details of this work.

I will let you know more about the process, offer, revisions, results, and more.

The Resume Writing Service

I ordered a resume writing service from Omar Deryan (@deryano), a Fiverr Pro freelancer with a 4.8-star rating from over 5,600 reviews.

His main expertise is in branding, copywriting, and Amazon listing optimization. His resume writing gig is an add-on to his expertise in helping people market themselves.

The service cost me €100–€200, with a 4-day delivery time.

Based on reviews, Omar asks the right questions to tailor resumes for specific roles and industries.

His service included resume structuring, formatting, content optimization, a cover letter, LinkedIn profile optimization, and revisions — all aimed at increasing my chances of landing a job.

This sounded good to me so I sent him a message to ask him to write a resume.

I Got This Offer

After 20 minutes of my initial message, he replied with some questions related to the task.

Then he sent me this offer (that I’m paraphrasing here to save you time):

  • Customized Resume Writing — Tailored to my industry and target job position.
  • Resume Editing & Optimization — Improved formatting, structure, and content for better readability and impact.
  • Personalized Approach — The seller asked relevant questions to refine my resume for the role I’m targeting.
  • Cover Letter Writing — A professionally written cover letter to complement my resume.
  • Revisions — The option to request changes based on my feedback.

This sounded good to me.

The only thing I didn’t need was the cover letter so I told let’s skip that part.

Then I accepted the offer and Omar started to work on my resume.

Speed

The total price I paid for the service was $90, and the delivery time was just 24 hours.

In fact, I was the one slowing it down as it took me some days to reply to the delivery and ask for revisions.

Delivery

When the work was completed, I didn’t just receive a resume, but also some useful templates.

This was a nice surprise, for sure this will be useful for the future.

However, that’s not the main point. The main point is the resume, so let’s see what it looks like.

So here it is:

When I got the first version of my resume, my first thought was, “Wait, this doesn’t look that great.”

I asked Omar to make it more modern — add some colors and a better layout.

He said he could, but warned me that it wouldn’t be optimized for applicant tracking systems (ATS). He strongly advised against it.

That was a valuable lesson. I had no idea that those plain, “boring” resumes perform best because ATS scans them more accurately. So, I told Omar that was good to know and accepted the order as is.

So based on the last message, it was time to approve the offer and download the resume.

Fiverr also has a built-in system that makes sure you’re happy with what you get — it lets you review the order before accepting or requesting revisions.

I like the fact that everything takes place in one place and is official like this. This ensures the quality of the work.

Revisions

Communicating with Omar was smooth and flawless.

He usually replied in less than an hour even though we operate in quite different timezones.

Omar was very responsive with his messages and he made sure we were on the right track with the task at hand.

Clarity

The instructions were clear. In the chat, he gave a quick overview of the service and asked a few basic questions.

But when he sent the official offer, it included a much more detailed questionnaire. It was clear he wanted to make sure he had all the info needed to write a solid resume.

My New Resume

At first glance, the resume seemed pretty basic.

But after Omar explained that it was optimized for ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), I understood the strategy behind it.

The formatting was simple, clean, and easy to follow, which is exactly what these systems prefer.

The resume did an excellent job of highlighting my strengths and experience.

The resume is now also full of industry keywords to ensure the resume gets picked up by ATS.

This was crucial for maximizing my chances of being noticed.

The language was professional and high-quality, with no unnecessary jargon — thankfully, not like those generic, AI-generated resumes you see everywhere.

Pros

  • Quick delivery: The resume was completed in just 4 days, much faster than I could have done it myself.
  • Professional output: The resume was high-quality, well-structured, and optimized for ATS.
  • Great communication: Omar was responsive and proactive, ensuring I had all the information needed for a tailored resume.
  • Added value: The bonus templates (outreach, progress tracking, interview guide, etc.) were a nice surprise and added significant value to the service.

Cons

  • Keyword stuffing: There was a bit of keyword stuffing in the resume to optimize it for ATS, though it was easy to remove if needed. Omar recommended keeping them in, though. That was the only part I wasn’t too sure about.
  • Double work: I had to share some information twice — once in the chat and again when filling out the detailed questionnaire after accepting the offer. This was a minor inconvenience, but on the positive side, it meant everything happens the correct way through Fiverr, rather than relying on an unofficial collaboration that could cause problems.

Final Verdict

The service was well worth the price. Considering I paid less than $100, the value I got was good.

I’ll give it a 4.8/5.0.

If I had to do everything myself, it would have taken me a lot of time — and I wouldn’t have been able to optimize the resume for ATS the way Omar did.

So, the quality of the final product far exceeded what I could have done on my own.

The extra templates Omar sent me — such as outreach, progress tracking, and email templates — were priceless. Honestly, they alone are worth the $100, even though they were just a bonus.

I really can’t recommend this service enough!
