Headshot Kiwi AI Review (2025)

I spent $39 on Headshot Kiwi to get professional AI headshots.

In this post, I will show you my results and whether it was worth it or not.

I will also show you better alternatives!

Short Overview

Headshot Kiwi isn’t the best AI headshot generator.

From my experience, it makes low-resolution images that you can’t customize.

This would have been cool a couple of years ago. But now it’s nothing. You can get way better results than this easily.

For the best AI headshots, I recommend trying BetterPic AI.

You’ll get 10% off with code JALLI10.

Just to compare, here’s what I got from the competing tool, BetterPic:

It’s just so much better!

My Results & Experience

That’s it for the short review. Now let’s look at the details. I’ll show you my results and how they compare to other AI headshot generators I’ve tried.

How to Use It

Headshot Kiwi AI is meant to be simple to use. Just sign up and pick a headshot AI photoshoot.

I bought the $39 package, which gives 120 AI-generated headshots. That’s enough to see if the tool works. Smaller packages sometimes give too few results to judge.

Before creating your headshots, give the instructions a quick read.

Here’s where things got tricky. When I uploaded my photos, they were silently rejected with no error message. I had to come back several times to upload more.

This tool also needs 13 images, which is a lot. You’ll need 13 good-quality photos to start. If you’re like me and don’t take that many selfies, that can be tricky.

After I uploaded my images, the whole site suddenly crashed.

This happened twice—once when I logged in and once when I started uploading images.

When I finally got my photos uploaded, I thought I was ready to get my headshots. But I was wrong. Clicking “Start AI Photoshoot” did nothing, even though I had already paid.

To be honest, I thought they had just taken my money. I was disappointed. There were no errors or warnings at all.

I had to figure it out myself. I went back a few pages and saw that I had only uploaded 11 out of 13 images, even though I had tried at least 20. Still no warning.

After uploading my photos for the 10th time, it finally started creating my headshots.

Two hours later, the headshots were ready.

Before I show you the results, here are some real photos of me so you can compare:

Here are my AI headshots:

At this point, I wasn’t expecting much. But to my surprise, some of the images turned out really well.

Here are a few of my favorites:

However, there was still one big problem: the image quality. The photos weren’t large or sharp enough. No matter which one I picked, it was blurry or pixelated when zoomed in. On a small thumbnail, it didn’t matter as much, so they could still work for LinkedIn.

I also noticed you can’t edit your photos. If some turn out to be low-quality or fail, you can’t fix them.

Here are some examples of the low-quality images:

Don’t expect every image to turn out well. Out of the 120 I received, only about 8–10 were good. In many of them, the teeth and lips looked odd, and the expressions were strange.

Alternatives

Headshot Kiwi is far from the best AI headshot generator. It feels like something thrown together quickly and then left alone.

I’d suggest using a headshot generator that’s up to date and actively improved.

The best headshot generator I’ve tested is BetterPic.io.

Use the code JALLI10 to get 10% off.

Here are some of the results that I got from BetterPic:

These are exactly to my liking.

I’m much happier with these results than with the ones from Headshot Kiwi AI—this tool is in a different league.

The AI edits are also impressive. Here are a few examples I got:

Of course, it’s not perfect.

But out of 100 images, at least 30–40 are usable, and all are high quality.

The edits are excellent.

Plus, there’s a human edit option, where a real person can adjust your images based on your requests.

👉 Try BetterPic Instead

Pros

  • Some images look good, though they still lack sharpness.
  • Fast—only took an hour or two to get the headshots, while some tools take 5–10 hours.

Cons

  • Most images turned out badly.
  • All images are low quality.
  • The tool is inconvenient and hard to use.
  • No editing or customization options.
  • No email notification when headshots are ready.

To Take Home

I’d choose BetterPic over Headshot Kiwi AI.

There’s nothing terribly wrong with Headshot Kiwi AI, but it’s far from the best.
