To create your QR code for free, head over to this page.
Then choose where you’d like to create the QR code.
Notice that it doesn’t need to be a website. You can create your QR code to PDFs, contact pages, apps, and more.
In this post, I will create my QR code for my website, codingem.com.
To create a QR code for a website, just enter the URL into the URL field in TQRCG.
If your website URL is long, make sure to use the dynamic QR code feature. This shortens the URL and makes the QR code have less elements, which means it’s easier for the scanners to read.
Also, don’t forget that having a QR code is one thing, but having it perform is another. To know how well your code is performing, make sure to check “Track your scans” at the top of the view.
This allows you to see how many people have scanned your QR code, from which countries, at what time, and more.
To save your QR code, track analytics, and more, sign up for the service. After this step, you’ll see your QR code dashboard.
From here, you can choose design options for your code. It doesn’t just need to be a regular-looking QR code, but you can give it an on-brand custom look.
If you want to get more accurate information about your scans, you can also enable the GPS tracking.
If you do this, though, the people who scan your code will see a message like this:
This is due to privacy reasons, so there’s no way around it. I’m just bringing this up because I don’t think you should enable it just for fun. If GPS location is necessary to you and you absolutely need to know it, then that’s the way to go.
Once everything is ready, save your QR code and start sharing it.
Don’t forget to track the analytics. You can access the page from the left-hand-side menu.
For example, I just scanned my example QR code for the first time, and it immediately shows it in the analytics tab.
It doesn’t just show the number of scans. You can check the location as discussed. Also, you can see what devices were used and at what time of the day the scan took place.
Heck, it even renders you a map that shows the locations of your scans.
Don’t forget that you can also edit your existing QR codes. Just head over to the QR code dashboard and click the three dots on one of your QR codes. This drops down a menu of options, one of which is the edits.
