I hired a Fiverr freelancer for $90 to create a professional resume for me.
But did it really pay off?
In this post, I’ll go over what I received, my experience, and how happy I am with it.
I also made a video about this, which you can watch here.
Let’s dive in!

My Experience (Short Recap)
There are dozens of resume writers on Fiverr.
I started browsing and ranked freelancers based on their ratings and how well their services fit what I was looking for.
I found Omar, who looked the most promising talent.

Then I sent Omar a message through Fiverr.

Omar responded quickly. He asked if I wanted a cover letter and gave me a short summary of what his service included.
After that, he sent me an official offer through Fiverr.

The whole process was easy.
Since Fiverr is a trusted platform and Omar had great ratings and many writing gigs, I felt confident this would be a good fit.
After I accepted and paid for the order, Omar sent me a detailed questionnaire to collect all the information he needed to create my resume.

I liked that he asked thoughtful questions to make sure the resume was tailored and personal.
The next day, I received my resume. Here’s what it looks like:

At first, I thought it looked a little plain. But Omar explained that it was designed to work well with ATS systems.
He showed me a fancier version but said it wasn’t a good idea because ATS doesn’t handle those well.
That was good to know!
I almost forgot to mention—he also included some extras I wasn’t expecting.

Working with Omar was easy, affordable, and definitely worth the $90. I got exactly what I wanted.
I can’t recommend him enough!

Now, let’s dive a bit deeper into the details.
I’ll walk you through the process, the offer, the revisions, the results, and more.
The Resume Writing Service
I ordered a resume writing service from Omar Deryan (@deryano), a Fiverr Pro freelancer with a 4.8-star rating from over 5,600 reviews.
Omar mainly works in branding, copywriting, and Amazon listing optimization. His resume writing gig is an extra service, helping people market themselves better.
The service cost me €100–€200, with a 4-day delivery time.
From what I saw in reviews, Omar asks the right questions to customize resumes for different roles and industries.
His service included structuring and formatting the resume, optimizing the content, a cover letter, LinkedIn profile optimization, and revisions—all to improve my chances of getting hired.
It all sounded good, so I sent him a message to get started.
I Got This Offer

About 20 minutes after I sent my first message, he replied with some questions about the task.
Then he sent me this offer (I’m summarizing it here to save time):
- Customized Resume Writing — Tailored to my industry and the job I’m aiming for.
- Resume Editing & Optimization — Improved formatting, structure, and content for clarity and impact.
- Personalized Approach — He asked the right questions to make sure the resume fit the role I wanted.
- Cover Letter Writing — A professional cover letter to go with the resume.
- Revisions — The option to request changes based on my feedback.
It all sounded good.
The only thing I didn’t need was the cover letter, so I decided to skip that.
After that, I accepted the offer, and Omar started working on my resume.
Speed
I paid $90 for the service, and the resume was delivered in just 24 hours.
Actually, I was the one slowing things down since it took me a few days to respond and request revisions.
Delivery
When the work was finished, I didn’t just get a resume—I also received some helpful templates.

This was a nice surprise, and I’m sure these templates will come in handy later.
But that’s not the main focus. The main thing is the resume, so let’s take a look.
Here it is:

When I saw the first version of my resume, my first thought was, “Hmm, this doesn’t look that impressive.”
I asked Omar to make it more modern by adding some color and improving the layout.

He said he could do it, but warned me that it wouldn’t work well with applicant tracking systems (ATS). He strongly recommended not doing it.

That was a useful lesson. I didn’t realize that plain, simple resumes actually work best because ATS can read them more easily. I told Omar that was good to know and decided to go with the resume as it was.

Fiverr has a built-in system that makes sure you’re satisfied with the work. You can review the order before accepting it or asking for changes.
I like that everything happens in one place and is official. It helps make sure the work is high quality.
Revisions
Communicating with Omar was easy and smooth.
He usually replied in under an hour, even though we were in very different time zones.

Omar was very responsive and made sure we stayed on track with the task.
Clarity
The instructions were clear. In the chat, he gave a quick overview of the service and asked a few basic questions.
When he sent the official offer, it came with a much more detailed questionnaire. It was clear he wanted to gather all the information needed to create a strong resume.

My New Resume
The resume seemed pretty basic at first:

After Omar explained that it was optimized for ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), I understood the reasoning behind it.

The formatting was simple, clean, and easy to read, which is exactly what ATS systems like.
The resume highlighted my strengths and experience really well.
It also included industry keywords to make sure ATS picks it up.
This was important for increasing my chances of getting noticed.
The language was professional and clear, with no unnecessary jargon—definitely not like those generic, AI-generated resumes you see everywhere.
Pros
- Fast delivery: The resume was ready in just 4 days, much quicker than I could have done it myself.
- Professional quality: The resume was well-structured, high-quality, and optimized for ATS.
- Good communication: Omar was responsive and proactive, making sure I gave all the info needed for a tailored resume.
- Extra value: The bonus templates (like outreach, progress tracking, and interview guides) were a nice surprise and added real value.
Cons
- Keyword stuffing: There were a few extra keywords in the resume to help with ATS. They were easy to remove if needed, but Omar suggested keeping them. This was the only thing I felt unsure about.
- Repeating information: I had to provide some details twice—once in the chat and again in the detailed questionnaire. It was a minor hassle, but the upside is that everything went officially through Fiverr instead of an informal process, which keeps things safe.
Final Verdict
The service was definitely worth the price. For less than $100, the value I got was great.
I’d rate it 4.8 out of 5.
If I had done everything myself, it would have taken a lot of time—and I wouldn’t have been able to optimize the resume for ATS like Omar did.
The final resume was much better than anything I could have created on my own.
The extra templates Omar included—like outreach, progress tracking, and email templates—were incredibly useful. Honestly, they alone are worth the $100, even though they were just a bonus.
I really can’t recommend this service enough!
