I spent a week testing different AI interior design tools so that you don’t need to.
This is a comprehensive review of the best AI-powered interior design tools. I tested all these awesome tools so you don’t need to.
Here are the top 3 picks for your convenience:
👉 1. VisualizeAI
👉 2. MyRoomDesigner.ai
Next, let’s jump into more detailed reviews.
Disclaimer: This article is reader-supported. If you choose to pay for the tools listed in this article, I might earn a small commission at no cost to you.
1. VisualizeAI

Visualize AI is an architect and interior design platform that uses AI.
You don’t need any design skills to work with this one! Just take an image of a room and tell what you want the AI to do with it.
Also, you can send a sketch of your room or structure and let the AI do its magic.
This sounds promising! But let’s see if it works.
Key Features
- Architecture AI. The tool uses AI to turn images or sketches into different architectural styles in seconds. Just let the AI know what you want to see, and it will do its magic.
- Interior Design AI. Send an image to the AI from your home or draw something and tell it what you want to see. After 30 seconds, the AI will change the pictures to exactly what you wanted.
- Product Design AI. You can also send images of a piece of furniture, such as a chair, or even draw one and tell the AI to turn it into something more creative or change its style.
- Upscaler. Some images are low-res. You can use the built-in upscaler feature to change this.
My Experience
Let me show you how this tool performs in my hands. I’ve extensively tested it so that you don’t have to.
If you want to, you can follow along. To jump in, sign up here. But if you just want to read my experience, be my guest 🙂

Architecture
First, I will test the Architecture feature.

This opens up the main view for Architecture that looks like this:

For example, I will now turn my sketch into a real design with AI.
Here’s my input:

By the way, you can create designs from scratch too! So you don’t need to be this good at drawing…
Anyways, then let’s tell the AI what we want to see by tweaking the settings and giving additional instructions as follows:

After this step, it takes about 60 seconds for the AI to generate the image:

Here are the outputs:

Isn’t that amazing? With a simple drawing that I had made, I could create a nice house with a good-looking scene.
Ok, I must admit that I used AI to generate that sketch… So let’s try to use a hand-drawn example next. This shows me if I can use the tool or if it’s just for those who can draw.
So here’s an image I’ve drawn: (Yes, that looks like a 5-year-old has drawn it but I can’t do it better… Sorry.)

With this one, I’m trying the following settings:

Here are the results:

While those look cool, they are far-fetched compared to what I told it to do.
Nonetheless, these can give some inspiration for sure. Also, my input image was very dark and basic, so perhaps the AI wasn’t sure what I wanted to do…
Nonetheless, it’s been impressive thus far. Let’s move on to the other features.
Interior Design
Then, let’s test the interior design feature.

Here’s my test image of a real bedroom:

I want to turn this into a modern bedroom near a beach with marble flooring. Here are the settings I’m going to go with:

Then it’s time to let the AI turn this bedroom into what I wanted to see. This takes about 30–60 seconds again. It will render three separate images of the target bedroom.
After waiting, here are the results:

Isn’t that cool? If you look at the input image, it kept all the necessary parts in place while completely revamping the scene, just as I wanted it to.
Here’s the original image for convenience:

Let’s create another run of these bedrooms. This time, let’s use the “Zen” style without any additional instructions:

Here are the results:

That’s epic! Within just 30 seconds, the AI gave me three unique and original designs that represent the Zen style of my living room. That’s almost like magic.
Of course, the one thing missing is consistency. While the images look good on a high level, the small details are usually missing and off. For example, did you notice that in one of the images, there’s a tree growing from the chair…?
But fair enough, this is still super useful and gives inspiration.
Tip: If you’re not happy with the image resolution, make sure to upscale the image.

Product Design
Last but not least, let’s try the product design tool.

Let’s try to create an image of a chair with this feature.
Here’s my sketch that I’ll be using:

Here are the settings that I will use:

After 15 seconds, here are the results that the tool gave me:

These look pretty cool to me. But the only thing “off” is what happens below the chair. There’s clearly some misunderstanding between me and the AI about what I wanted to accomplish.
But I call it a solid 8/10. It’s not perfect, but it pretty accurately resembles what I wanted to do with it.
Pros
- Realistic results that give a lot of inspiration.
- This tool is a lot quicker than the other tools I’ve tried.
- The tool offers upscaling features for low-res images too.
- It comes with the most common architectural styles and exterior types.
- Customization options to give the AI a prompt about whatever you can imagine.
- Simple two-way pricing with simple yet powerful plans.
Cons
- Occasional inaccuracies. If the input images aren’t good, the output will end up looking very basic and even odd sometimes.
- Clunky UI. Sometimes you have to refresh the page to clean up the settings you’ve used or images that you’ve tested.
- The free trial is limited to only a handful of renders.
Pricing

- Basic: $19/mo
- Pro: $99/mo
Bottom Line
I love VisualizeAI. It’s a powerful use case of AI that covers all the interior design and architectural design use cases.
You can take an image of your living room or bedroom, tell the AI what you want to change, and it gets the job done in just seconds.
Or if you have a knack for drawing, you can create a sketch on paper and let the AI do its job with it.
I recommend giving it a try. While it’s not perfect, it will surely give you some inspiration and save time.
2. MyRoomDesigner.ai

MyRoomDesigner.AI helps you design rooms and create mood boards using AI, with features like product importing, background removal, and shopping list creation.
Let me show you my results with this good-looking product to see if it works.
Key Features
Let’s take a closer look at the core features of MyRoomDesigner AI:
- AI Room Redesign: Upload a room photo or sketch to get a quick redesign with furnishings.
- Virtual Staging: Add virtual furniture to empty rooms for real estate or design projects.
- Mood Board Creation: Generate mood boards with color palettes, decor ideas, and products.
- Multiple Style Options: Choose from styles like modern, traditional, rustic, and more.
- Real-Time Chat: Get live design suggestions and adjustments.
- Product Cost Estimation: See the estimated costs for items in your design.
- Background Removal: Clean up room photos for better visuals.
- Image Upscaling: Enhance image resolution for clear, high-quality results.
Now, let me show you my results and experiences with it.
My Experience
I’ve extensively tested MyRoomDesigner AI to save you from the hassle. Let me share my experiences and results as well as show you how the tool works.
To try it, first sign up.

Or sign in if you already have your account.

Then click on “Design room.”

Then upload an image of your room, choose the design mode (for example, restyling), choose your room type (such as home office), and briefly describe the AI what you want to do to your space.

The AI will render a description of the image and input for the AI room designer to enhance your space. You can change this if you want to but you don’t need to touch it. Then just hit generate and wait for a minute.

Here are the images I got:

Aren’t those incredible? Also, unlike most AI images, there’s very little “funkiness” going on, that is, almost every element and object makes sense.
If you can’t see the images, here’s one big image for you:

Let’s compare it to the original room design:

Isn’t that cool? The original room is a complete mess compared to the AI results. The AI was able to retain the shape and main characteristics of my space, but it redesigned it almost flawlessly.
But this is not typical of the AI room designers. As a comparison, let me show you what a generic and bad AI tool (called ReImagineHome) does:

As you can see, not much has changed. The AI just took everything out. And the table that the AI added to the image is a complete mess. I mean, what even is that?
This is what you typically get from free AI interior design tools. The image looks good(ish) on a quick look, but the more you look at it, the less it makes sense.
I love MyRoomDesigner because it allows you to recreate your favorite designs with a slightly different touch. To do this, click “Create similar” on one of your designs.

Here are the recreated results I got with it:

If you get too small or low-quality images from the AI, you can always scale the images up with the “Upscale” feature:

This gives you sharp and high-quality results like this:

Last but not least, MyRoomDesigner allows you to create mood boards that are essential to interior design.
To add your room image to a mood board, click “Add to designer.”

It then renders you a blank canvas with your design on it.

Click on the “+” icon to add related objects to the images to create your mood board.

For example, here are some objects I added (mind that I’m not a professional designer).

Once your mood board has the desired mood, you can make it public and share it with others.

That’s practical, easy, and accessible! I loved my experience with MyRoomDesigner. This is one of the best AI designers I’ve ever tried and one of my favorites.
Pros
- Realistic results with minimal artifacts. The images look almost like they’ve been created by a real designer. Even though they’re not perfect, they’ll for sure inspire you and save time.
- Fast — get your designs in just a minute or two.
- Free plan. The tool comes with a free $0/mo plan that you can experiment with before committing to a paid plan.
- Easy to use. Just drag and drop your images and choose a couple of options to see your new designs.
- Mood boards. The tool allows you to create a mood board with objects and elements in line with your designs easily. You can also publish those.
Cons
- The UI is a bit outdated and gives a 2010 website vibe — don’t let that confuse you!
- There are some artifacts in the AI images. But to be fair, the only way to overcome these is by hiring a real designer.
- There’s not much you can do to your images other than regenerate (or describe better for the AI.)
Pricing

- Free: $0/month
- Personal: $23/month (billed $276 yearly)
- Business: $53/month (billed $636 yearly)
- Premium: $89/month (billed $1,068 yearly)
Bottom Line
MyRoomDesigner.ai impressed me with the realistic results with minimal artifacts. It’s not perfect, but it will give you direction and inspiration.
It’s easy to use — upload, click, and watch your space transform in minutes.
I’d give it a shot–especially because it’s free. And if you’re not happy with this one, perhaps try a real interior designer.
3. Fiverr

Let’s be real. Those AI interior design tools are cool, but they will only get you so far. You’ll quickly realize some limitations and inaccuracies that prevent you from getting the result.
Thus, I had to include an affordable top-notch interior design service on the list called Fiverr.
The idea is that you choose one of the top-rated designers, and they’ll get the job done and have years of experience in the field.
Features
Here are some benefits of using Fiverr:
- No Monthly Fees: Pay once for what you need.
- Secure Payments: Fiverr doesn’t let you pay until you’re satisfied!
- Revisions Available: Request changes to your designs if you’re not satisfied.
- Refunds Offered: Get your money back if you’re unsatisfied.
- Quick Turnaround: Services are delivered in a few days.
- Affordable Options: In the long run, prices are lower than recurring software subscriptions.
My Experience
To compare how well AI performs against real designers, I had to test Fiverr myself. I paid $180 for a gig with the best interior designer on the platform, Hoang.
Here’s how it went.
First, I checked Hoang’s page. It looked good, the ratings were great and the pricing was on point.

I decided to drop a message to her to tell her about my goals, that is, that I want to redesign my office.

This is what Fiverr is good for. It takes care of the whole process. Instead of having to second-guess the talent or look for contact emails, you can just search for the skill and contact the people directly.
I told Hoang that I needed a design for my small office space.

She replied instantly.

Then I sent her my office space images.

Based on these images, Hoang then sent me a custom offer for creating interior designs for my office.

I viewed the offer and agreed. I then added some additional information about my project and paid for the gig.
Now I just had to wait for Hoang to send me the designs.
After a couple of days, she approached me with the new designs.

Here are the designs she created for me:

That’s insanely good! Even though I was pleased with the results, I noticed that I had two revisions in the order, so I wanted to make some small changes to the designs.
I told Hoang to remove just a bit from it to make it a bit more minimalistic.

She agreed, and the next day, I got the new versions of my designs back:

That’s even better!
At this point, I could have requested one more edit, but these are so good that I chose not to. Instead, I approved the results in my Fiverr delivery dashboard.

That’s a wrap for the gig! I’m super happy with the results, so I gave it a good review.

That’s how easy it is to use Fiverr. It all happens in one place.
To put it short, all you need to do is:
- Find a freelancer.
- Contact them (optional).
- Agree upon a gig.
- Pay for the service.
- Share your project goals.
- Wait.
- Request edits.
- Approve.
- Enjoy!
For example, in the case of my interior designs, it didn’t take much longer for me to get good results than with AI. Just 5 minutes of chatting and a couple of days of waiting.
Highly recommend it!

4. ZMO AI

ZMO.AI’s Interior AI Designer is an AI-powered tool designed to transform interior spaces creatively and precisely.
It’s aimed at homeowners, design enthusiasts, and professional interior designers, offering a convenient and efficient way to generate hundreds of interior design ideas effortlessly.
But how does it perform, and what does it do? Let’s take a closer look at the product.
Key Features
- AI-Powered Room Design: Upload photos of your rooms and explore tons of styles and designs, all generated by AI.
- Personalization: The tool allows for personalizing designs to fit individual styles and preferences.
- Ease of Use: The three-step process (uploading a room photo, selecting room type, and selecting design style) makes the tool accessible and easy to use.
- Efficiency: Generates interior design ideas quickly, offering a time-saving solution.
- Remove Mess: This tool converts messy room photos into professional-looking images with renovated designs for inspiration.
My Experience
I tried this tool extensively to see if it fulfills what it promises.
Using this tool is child’s play. Just open up the ZMO interior designer web app, and drop an image into the mix.

Then it’s time to choose a room type and design style.
I chose a living room as it’s the image I’ll be using in this entire tutorial. Also, I went with the “Minimalist” style in the image.

Oops! Well, this tool doesn’t allow for creations without signing up. But that’s not an issue.
Just use your Google account if you wish to, and you’ll be back in action in less than 10 seconds.

After signing up, it’s time to create an AI-powered interior design for your room. This takes a moment to load. I’d say for me it took about 30 seconds.

Here’s the result compared with the input.

Looks pretty impressive. In most AI interior design tools, the results come with low-quality images with unrealistic objects. But this one seems to have nailed it pretty well.
Of course, this design is not even close to complete, and it also has some strange artifacts. But based on the tests I did with various tools, this is as close to “perfect” as you can get.
Let’s give it another shot with a different style. This time, I did a “Sweet” design. Here’s what the output looks like:

Awesome. Once again, not 100% complete, but it’s very very close. You can for sure use these interior designs as an inspiration, right?
Pros
- Time and Cost Saving: Generates design ideas quickly and eliminates the need for expensive interior designers.
- User-Friendly: Simple to use, making it accessible to a wide range of users.
- Versatile: Suitable for various users, from homeowners to professional designers. There are tons of styles and room types to choose from.
- Creative Freedom: Provides a wide array of design ideas, encouraging exploration and experimentation.
Cons
- Limited Customization: This does not offer the same level of customization as a personal interior designer, not even close. The results are still quite arbitrary,
- Sign Up Required: Some of the AI tools on the market these days don’t require an account. This one does. Although it’s still free, it’s still a small bump on the road.
- Possible Technical Glitches: As an AI tool, it might have some glitches or limitations in understanding complex design requirements. Sometimes the rooms or objects don’t look realistic.
Pricing

- Starter ($14.9/month): 300 credits, 1K resolution, 4 image batches, basic features.
- Pro ($29.9/month): 3000 credits, 2K resolution, 6 image batches, some advanced features.
- Boss ($59.9/month): Unlimited credits, 2K resolution, 8 image batches, all features, including advanced ones, and cloud storage.
Bottom Line
ZMO.AI Interior AI Designer is an awesome interior design tool for anyone looking to revamp a living space with ease.
This tool is super simple and easy to use. Just choose an image, style, and room type and let AI do its magic.
Especially because it’s free, I highly recommend giving it a shot!
While not all the designs are great or “ready”, it still gives you inspiration and ideas for further exploration.
Let’s move on to the next tool I tested.
5. RoomsGPT.io

RoomGPT is an AI-driven interior design tool that promises to revolutionize the way designers approach room design.
Utilizing advanced AI-powered algorithms and machine learning techniques, it analyzes design elements such as furniture, colors, textures, and spatial arrangements to generate realistic and visually appealing room concepts.
But is it all hype? Does it create something useful or inspirational?
Let’s take a closer look!
Key Features
- Design Customization: RoomGPT offers multiple design options, allowing you to upload a photo of your room and customize it based on your liking. This includes changing color schemes, adding or removing furniture, and experimenting with different lighting options.
- Wide Range of Themes: There’s a broad selection of themes, including modern, classic, rustic, and more. Each theme comes with its unique set of furniture and color schemes.
- Multiple Layout Options: This piece of software generates multiple layout options for rooms, using AI algorithms to analyze space and offer different arrangement ideas that maximize both functionality and aesthetics.
- Comparison Feature: Compare your original room design with the generated one side by side to help understand the AI’s improvements.
- AI-Powered Realism: Advanced technology is used to create realistic room images that resemble real-world designs.
My Experience
I tried RoomsGPT.io and here’s how I found it.
First, it starts with a simple quiz that asks you to fill in your room type:

Oh, and it also asks about the design style. I chose Minimalist for my room:

Then, you need to drag and drop an image of your room. Remember, it doesn’t have to be cleaned or anything. Just a picture of your room as it stands right now will do!
Here’s a sample image I used (not my living room, lol):

After waiting for a while, it gives you a revamped room with a brand-new design.
Here you can see the side-by-side comparison:

Looks neat, doesn’t it? Especially considering this was 100% free.
The issue with this image, though, is that it’s low in quality. Well, that’s easy to fix. Just click the “Upscale” button in the bottom corner.
But this doesn’t remove the fact that there’s always something funky going on in the image.
Look at the large golden lamp in the above picture. With a quick look, it looks cool, but the more you look at it, the less it resembles a lamp.
And this goes with everything in the room, to be honest. I mean, where do the stairs lead to?
That’s my biggest issue with a tool like this. Even though it can give you some inspiration, it still lacks the actual objects and clarity.
Pros
- Time-Saving: Quickly creates unique and original room design options, saving hours of browsing and research.
- Cost-Effective: Provides decent or even professional designs at a fraction of the cost of hiring an interior designer (or even for free)
- User-Friendly Interface: The platform is easy to navigate, making it accessible for both professionals and amateurs. As a first-timer, it probably takes 30 seconds to start using it.
Cons
- Limited Customization: There is way less customization compared to hiring an interior designer in person. It just asks a couple of questions and a base image, and that’s it.
- Practicality Issues: Some design suggestions may be impractical for real-life applications. Also, the images look strange from time to time, and the objects aren’t always realistic.
- Limited Free Access: The free version has limitations on the number of designs that can be generated. Also, if it says $15/mo to remove ads, that’s never a good sign…
Pricing

RoomGPT offers flexible pricing plans, including a free trial with limited access.
For advanced features and unlimited design generations, it provides a Pro subscription at $15 per month and a Business subscription at $30 per month.
Bottom Line
RoomGPT is an innovative and efficient tool for creating high-quality interior designs. Its semi-realistic design outputs make it a great choice for various users, from homeowners to professionals, for inspiration.
However, it also leaves a lot of room for improvement. This tool is not ready to replace a professional designer (at least not yet).
Despite its limitations in customization and practicality, RoomGPT’s ability to save time and costs in interior designing makes it a valuable tool in the realm of AI-powered design solutions.
Let’s check the next tool in line!
6. Fy!

Fy! AI Interior Designer is an innovative tool that uses AI to revamp the designs of your room.
This tool is part of the Fy! platform, which is known for its diverse range of home and living products.
The AI Interior Designer feature on Fy! aims to make art creation and room design accessible to everyone, allowing users to easily visualize and transform their spaces.
But let’s see how it works.
Key Features
- AI Room Designer: This feature enables users to create realistic restyles of their rooms from just one photo, offering a quick way to visualize different styles.
- Variety of Styles: The tool provides a range of trending styles such as Contemporary, Natural, Classical, Modern, and others, catering to diverse aesthetic preferences.
- Bespoke Wall Art Creation: Fy! Studio allows you to create your unique wall art using AI, which can be framed and delivered. This feature is aimed at personalizing home décor to match individual tastes.

- Ease of Use: Designed to be user-friendly, the tool makes art and interior design creation accessible to a wider audience, regardless of their design experience.
My Experience
I tried FY! to generate a design for my living room example that I’ve used throughout this tutorial.
To test the tool, just open up the FY! webpage and drag and drop an image into the mix.
Right off the bat, it asks you to sign up. I used Google to sign up, so it took 4 seconds to be able to continue.

After signing up, the tool started generating designs for my room. It didn’t even ask my preferences; it just started on its own.

For reference, here’s the input image I used:

And here are the outputs that the FY! AI-generated for me:

These look nice! I think the rooms look more realistic than in most other AI interior design generators. There’s significantly less inconsistency and unrealistic objects in the images.
The only downside is that the resolution of the images is poor. For example, here’s one of the AI-generated designs:

You get the idea from the AI-generated design image, but the quality could be better, for sure.
Use an AI image upscaler tool to boost the quality.
9 Best AI Image Upscalers of 2023 (Enhance Photos by 800%)
Did you know you can improve image quality with AI? Here are the best AI image upscalers on the market. I tested every…medium.com
Anyways, this piece of AI software is pretty creative. You can design your interior for free. Then, if you’re inspired, you can buy products to match the designs in those images from this same website.
For example, here you can see that below every AI-generated design, there’s a “Shop” option:

Also, you can generate more styles if the first six don’t meet the eye:

What a cool idea! I loved it. The tool works nicely, it’s easy to use, and it gives you solid designs from scratch.
Pros
- Free: This tool is free to use. Just sign up and start designing
- Easy to Use: The tool is extremely simple to use. Instead of having to know anything about interior design, you can let the AI do the work.
- Shop the Designs: If you fall in love with one of the AI designs, you can use the “Shop” feature to purchase products that resemble what you see in the AI images.
Cons
- Sign Up Required: The tool doesn’t allow for creating images without signing up
- Low-Res Images: The output images look good on the small screen but they aren’t that impressive on a bigger screen.
- Unrealistic Images: Some of the AI-generated images don’t look that great, and the image objects aren’t realistic.
Pricing
Fy! Studio, which includes the AI Interior Designer, is free to use.
This offers a great opportunity for users to experiment with different room styles and art creations without any financial commitment.
Bottom Line
Fy! AI Interior Designer is a free and accessible tool for anyone looking to transform their living spaces. Its AI-powered features allow for a variety of design explorations, from room restyling to creating bespoke wall art.
The user-friendly interface and safety measures make it a reliable and enjoyable platform for home design enthusiasts.
Make sure to try it. It’s free!
Let’s move on to the next tool.
7. Fotor AI Interior Designer

Fotor AI Interior Design is a versatile and powerful tool for interior design, harnessing the capabilities of artificial intelligence.
It’s designed to simplify the process of interior design by allowing users to easily generate and visualize 3D decoration images for their homes.
This tool is pre-trained with a multitude of popular interior design images, enabling it to provide highly relevant and aesthetically pleasing design suggestions based on user input.
Fotor is not just an interior design tool. It has a ton of other image-editing features.
But let’s find out how the AI interior designer works.
Key Features
- AI Inpainting Tool: Enables users to customize their interior design by entering prompts or replacing unwanted elements with preferred design inspirations.
- Quick Home Interior Design Tool: Offers fast and effective generation of AI home designs, allowing multiple interior decoration ideas by adjusting AI-generated room design images.
- AI Room Design App for iOS and Android: Provides the flexibility to use the tool on mobile devices, making it convenient for on-the-go design planning.
- Customization Options: Allows easy customization of room designs using the AI inpainting tool.
- Multiple Styles: Users are free to choose from various interior design styles.
My Experience
I used Fotor’s interior designer AI.
It starts with this cool-looking editor view where you can drop an image and describe what you want to see in the AI output:

Bang! It asks you to sign up to create a design. But that’s fine, we’ll do that.
Once you’ve signed up, you have a bunch of free credits to spend. Just hit “Generate” to start revamping the design of your room.
It takes a while for the tool to create the image.

After about 30 seconds, it spits out results. Here’s what it did to my living room:

Looks cool, doesn’t it?
Let’s try to customize it a bit. Unlike most tools on this list, Fotor allows you to describe the room you wish to see. You can use your own words.
Here, I asked the tool to create a minimalistic Scandinavian design:

And here’s the result:

Looks pretty amazing. In this image, all the design elements seem pretty realistic.
A downside to this is that the room looks like a 3D render, not an actual photograph. Well, that doesn’t make it bad by any means. But it would be nice to see as realistic images as in the other tools on this list.
Anyway, this tool was awesome. Although the free trial is very limited, you can get an idea of what kind of results to expect before considering a purchase.
Pros
- Offers many features for the price, making it an all-in-one design tool.
- Easy to use regardless of skill level.
- Capable of generating results from both text and images.
Cons
- AI tools are only available with the Pro plans.
- Not designed as a dedicated AI interior design service for more advanced usage.
Pricing

The Fotor pricing table offers two plans:
- Fotor Pro: €1.98/month billed yearly. Includes 100 AI image generation credits per month, AI tools (enlarger, enhance, eraser), portrait editing features, basic AI generation, and 2GB cloud storage.
- Fotor Pro+: €4.37/month billed yearly. Increases AI image generation credits to 300 per month, retains all Pro features, and expands cloud storage to 10GB.
Besides the free trial.
Bottom Line
Fotor AI Interior Design stands out as a user-friendly and efficient tool, making it a suitable choice for both amateurs and professionals in interior design.
Just sign up, upload an image, describe the design you want to see, and you’re good to go. Anybody can use this tool!
Note that while the platform provides intelligent enhancements, it may lack certain advanced editing features found in more professional software. Also, some of the designs look like 3D renders rather than realistic images.
Anyway, this tool is free to try, so why not give it a shot?
Let’s move on to the next tool in line.
8. AI Room Planner

AI Room Planner is an innovative interior design tool that uses AI to generate design ideas for various rooms.
It’s designed to be accessible to everyone, from homeowners to professional interior designers, offering an easy way to visualize different design options for any space.
The software is currently in its beta phase and is available for free without limitations.
Let’s see how it works and what it can do for you!
Key Features
- AI-Driven Design: Utilizes advanced AI algorithms to generate realistic interior design ideas based on uploaded photos.
- Variety of Styles: Offers a wide range of styles, including options like a Japanese-style living room, catering to diverse tastes.
- Supports Various Room Types: Compatible with different room types such as living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, etc.
- User-Friendly Interface: Ensures an easy and seamless user experience.
- Inspirational Portfolio: Provides a collection of recently rendered designs for additional inspiration.
- Free and Unlimited: The service is currently free, with no limitations on the number of designs, downloads, or image editing.
My Experience
I tried the tool with the same input image of an example living room that I’ve used with all the other tools on this list.
The first problem I encountered was that you need to sign up to use the tool.

This popup looks a bit “cheap” if you ask me… But hey, it’s a free tool! 😉
No problem there. 🙂 Once I signed up, I dragged the sample living room image into the editor.

I made some adjustments so that I could design the interior based on the selector below the dragged image. See the settings in the image below:

After waiting for a while, here’s the result I got:

Yes, unfortunately, this one didn’t even work. Even though it was the first tool that popped up on Google for a “Free AI interior design tool”, it seems not to work at all.
I even tried disabling my ad blocker, but that didn’t help. So that’s it for this one! Don’t try — it doesn’t work.
Pros
- Simple UI: The tool looks simple. It’s just a drag-and-drop AI editor view.
- Free: The tool only asks you to sign up, but is otherwise free to use.
Cons
- Doesn’t Work: The tool gets stuck in the design process. It simply doesn’t produce an output.
Pricing
AI Room Planner is free to use in its current beta version.
Bottom Line
Based on the reviews and examples in the tool, this seems like a decent free AI designer tool. But at least when I tried it, it failed and didn’t generate any designs in 15 minutes.
I’d try other solutions from this list.
