My Experience

Once you sign in, head over to the Music section.
Describe your song, choose how many versions to generate, and set the duration.
For my first test, I used this prompt:
“Create an original lo-fi chillhop song with a nostalgic, relaxed vibe. Use warm electric piano, soft drums, mellow bass, and subtle vinyl crackle at around 85 BPM. The track should feel cozy and introspective, like late-night study or reflection music.
Include gentle, dreamy vocals (male or female) with a slightly hazy, vintage tone. The lyrics should be simple and poetic, expressing themes of solitude, peace, and late-night thoughts — something that feels like journaling while it rains outside.
Example lyrical themes: letting go of stress, remembering good times, or finding calm in small moments. Keep the lyrics minimal and loopable — suitable for chill playlists or background listening.”
For this one, I set the duration to 2 minutes. But you can also just use the Auto option.
Once you’re ready, hit Create.
You’ll see it build the whole thing in real time — verse, chorus, bridge, everything.
It also builds the song in parts, so you can start playing it even before it’s done.
The first version actually sounded really good.
Editing Your Songs
You can edit almost anything in your song with ElevenLabs.
For example, you can open your song intro styles like this:

You can do this with your verses, too.
Speaking of verses, if there’s a lyric you don’t like, click on it, rewrite it, and hit Generate again.
The AI updates the song right away with your new line.
You can also change how long each part plays or tweak the mood to fit what you want.
If you want it to sound faster, just add “fast-paced” to your prompt and hit regenerate.
You can also add new sections to your track if you want to expand it.
ElevenLabs will remake that section but leave the rest of the song untouched.
Each regeneration can slightly change the vocal tone, which helps keep it fresh.
Adjusting Sections
You can make any part longer or shorter by dragging the section bar.
When you regenerate, ElevenLabs automatically adjusts the length of the music to fit.
It also labels every new version, so it’s easy to keep track of your changes.
To replace an entire section, just delete the old text, add your new lyrics, and regenerate.
If you already have full lyrics written, you can paste them straight into your prompt.

Here’s an example prompt I used for that:

The result sounded perfect for a YouTube intro or outro.
You can also create background music with a simple prompt like this:

After generating, you can tweak it however you like.

- Let’s replace those with “house,” “mysterious,” or “uplifting.”

You can clearly hear that it still sounds similar, but it has a few new elements from the changes we made.

You can’t create just any song, since the tool checks to make sure you’re not copying someone else’s work.
For this demo, I tried making a song like this:
Create an original minimal techno track inspired by Deadmau5’s signature production style.
The track should have a clean, hypnotic groove built around a deep kick, tight percussion, and evolving bassline. Use lush synth pads, filtered plucks, and a slowly modulating arpeggio to create atmosphere. Focus on space and tension — minimal layers, but rich textures.
Build energy gradually with subtle automation and sound design — long filter sweeps, reverb tails, and evolving rhythmic patterns. No vocals. Keep the mix spacious and crisp with strong low-end presence and wide stereo ambience.
Can you see the problem here?
When I tried to make this song, it gave me an error, just like we expected.
I’m pretty sure that happened because I tried to make a song that sounded like something produced by Deadmau5.
That goes against the policies, so I had to change the prompt.
I asked ChatGPT to rewrite it so it wouldn’t break any rules. Here’s what it came up with:
Create an original minimal progressive techno track with a clean, hypnotic groove and a slowly evolving arrangement.
Use a deep, punchy kick drum, tight percussive elements, and a warm, evolving bassline that drives the track forward. Add atmospheric pads, subtle arpeggios, and evolving synth textures that build tension over time without cluttering the mix.
Focus on space, texture, and gradual progression — keep the elements minimal but polished. Introduce movement through filter automation, reverb modulation, and layered rhythmic variations.
The overall mood should be futuristic, spacious, and introspective — suitable for a late-night club set or immersive headphone listening.

Here’s how to get started with Suno.
Go to their website and sign up using your preferred way.
I got the Premier plan, and my review will be based on that experience.
Once you’re on the dashboard, click “Create” to start making music.
If the “Instrumental” option is turned on, the track will be made without any lyrics.
Here, you’ll see two modes: Simple and Custom.
Simple mode is, like the name says, very basic. It works mainly with text-to-music prompts.
If you click the little Dice icon, it’ll generate a random prompt for you. That’s what I did here.
My prompt was “120 bpm intro song about grocery store trips.”
Click “Create,” and within a few moments, your track will be ready.
The AI also makes cover art for each track automatically.
If you switch to Custom mode, you’ll get more control. You can generate lyrics from a prompt or write your own lyrics to include in the track.
You can even record your own audio and add it directly to the song.
When you click on the Advanced options, a drop-down menu appears where you can change the Vocal Gender and a few other settings.
What sets the Pro and Premier plans apart from the Free plan is that they give you access to the Suno Studio, also called the Editor.
Here you can see the Song Editor (currently in Beta) and the Suno Studio.
At first, this might look a bit much for beginners, but it’s actually pretty simple once you try it. It might help to watch a few tutorials or check the Help Center article to get familiar with it.
The difference between the Studio and the Editor is mainly in how much control you get. The Editor is meant for lighter changes, like moving parts around or adjusting how long each section plays.

Next, I wanted to make a song in a totally different genre.
I clicked the Dice icon again to get a random prompt, and it gave me “Light modern alternative rock song about beach days.”
And that’s how “Salt in the Air” was created.
It instantly reminded me of the emo bands I used to listen to when I was 14.
As someone completely new to music creation, I was pretty happy with both tracks as they were. I didn’t do much editing in the Editor or Suno Studio.
Someone with a more trained ear would probably make a few changes since the songs sound a bit generic and don’t have much character.
The backtrack for “Grabbing Groceries” also feels a little empty, but I didn’t have the skills to add more to it. I think Suno Studio would’ve been perfect for that.

I’ve extensively tested SoundRaw.
Creating with it couldn’t be easier. You don’t even need to sign up to create unique music. Head to the Soundraw website and choose the length, tempo, and genre.

Then after just a couple of seconds, the tool generated a list of AI-generated songs it had just created. Wow!
The only downside with this was that it took a while to load these songs. So when you click play, it can easily take 30–60 seconds to play the song. Not bad, still!
I loved the first one it created. If I had heard that song on the radio, I would’ve never paid attention to it as if AI generated it. There were no lyrics in the songs I generated, though.
To my disappointment (but not a surprise), you need to sign up and pay for a plan to download and use those songs. But that makes total sense! 🙂
I tried to get clever and skip the subscription after signing up in hopes of being able to download the song…
But when I went back to the list of AI-generated songs, it prompted me back to a paid plan before downloading.
Let’s continue exploration.

Now, let me show you how it’s done and what I like/dislike about the product.

The main feature of this product is the Text-to-Music feature. This allows you to create a song or track with AI from text. So all you need to do is tell the AI what kind of a track it should create.

Anyway, I told the AI to create a track with the following instructions:

It’s a bit bassy but a very smooth and consistent track that nearly resembles the style of the early 2000s that I asked.
It’s hard to believe one can create a song like this in just seconds. When I used DAWs back in 2016, I wouldn’t think this to be possible in decades.

However, I’m not sure if I get this feature because you can’t play those songs for anyone else except you because of copyright issues!

My Experience with Mubert
I tried Mubert extensively to see if it’s worth the hype.
Here’s my experience with the tool.
Firstly, the UI is intuitive and simple. Right off the bat, you can either generate a new track or pick one from the existing ones.
I chose to create a new track from scratch using AI.
First, I tried something generic, which is a short EDM loop.
It only took like 30 seconds for the AI to generate the track:
Once the track was complete, it was time to give it a listen.
This one was pretty incredible. Yes, the quality wasn’t the highest of the highs, but it was something I wouldn’t think was created by AI.
The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that I had to upgrade the software to get rid of the chant “Mubert” every 10 seconds. But hey, that’s fine. All the other AI music tools do the same.
Also, to download the song, you’d need to upgrade to a paid plan.
So, because EDM is generic, I wanted to ask the AI to generate something more.
So I asked it to create a progressive house track with a chord progression.
While the track was been baked by the AI, I deleted the old track.
Then after waiting for 30 seconds, the AI-generated track was ready and I gave it a listen.
Once again, I was amazed by the quality of the track. This time, it didn’t sound robotic at all. Even though it was in a bit more “niche” genre.
Then I gave it one more try. One of my all-time favorite artists is Deadmau5. I love his chord progressions. So I wanted to try to generate a similar track to DM5.
I told it to create a Deadmau5-like chord progression.
This time, the result was ok, but it didn’t resemble Deadmau5. It had some similar elements. And it didn’t sound robotic. But it was pretty far-fetched to call it Deadmau5.
But hey, that’s still pretty incredible.
Overall, I would say 8/10 or 9/10.
And definitely, a 10/10 when it comes to what I expected. Just a couple of years ago, I tried similar tools with way worse results. So clearly, there’s some nice progress!
