Try It on AI Review (2025)

I spent $61 on Try It on AI headshots to save you time and money.

In this post, I will show you my results and compare them with those of other AI headshot generators.

TLDR; This tool is good but definitely not the best.

My Verdict

Try It on AI headshot generator is not the best AI headshot generator.

Especially the edits can sometimes turn your images into something like this:

For the best AI headshots, I recommend trying BetterPic AI.

I found a coupon code there, too. You’ll get 10% off with code JALLI10.

That’s a lot better!

My Results & Experience

But now, let’s dig deeper into the details. In this section, I will show you how to use Try It on AI. I will show you my results, the edits, and also how these compare to the other AI headshot generators that I’ve used.

How to Use

Using Try It on AI is simple. Just sign up and choose a headshot AI photoshoot.

I purchased the $61 package to receive 100 AI-generated headshots.

Then upload images of yourself so that the AI learns what you look like.

I had some struggles in this step. First, the tool asks for quite a bunch of different types of selfies, such as full-body shots, half-body shots, and selfies. I mean, not all people have images like this in the library

When you drag and drop your images, make sure to crop them so that the tool can see your face.

I got a lot of alerts that my face is not visible, even though it was.

I was confused by the UI. The images would upload, but then it would take 5 seconds before I got feedback from it.

Nonetheless, after a bit of a struggle, I was able to upload my images to it.

To make it easier to compare my results before and after, here’s what I look like in my real images:

Then, choose your favorite AI headshot styles:

There’s no limit on how many of these you can choose. I went with 11 styles since I ordered the most expensive package, which is 100 images for $61.

Then, as the last step, specify your characteristics. For example, if you have different hairstyles in your images, tell the AI what your typical hairstyle looks like.

Then upload the images and wait. This tool is fast. It only takes 10 minutes to create your headshots. (The previously fastest tool that I tested took about 30–45 minutes!)

My Headshots

Here are my AI-generated headshots:

That’s decent. I mean, not too good but not crazy bad either.

Here’s a side-by-side comparison between me and my favorite headshot out of the 100 that I got:

That’s cool, isn’t it?

However, most of the results were bad. There are just one or two usable images in the mix.

But back to the Try It on results.

Here’s an example of a more typical result:

It still resembles me, but it also seems like it’s been distorted by a filter that compresses the image. It just appears unnatural.

Here’s an even better (worse) example:

It definitely resembles me. But at the same time, my head appears disproportionately large, almost to a comical degree.

However, some of the images are quite decent. For instance, I think this neon-lit photo turned out pretty well.

Customizations

One interesting feature in Try It on AI is the option to enhance your AI-generated headshots using AI.

You can sharpen images, change backgrounds, regenerate photos, and more.

However, those edits didn’t live up to my expectations.

For example, here’s a poor-quality image where my teeth and eyes appear distorted:

I tried to regenerate the image with the AI edits feature:

In the screenshot above, I used a brush to mask my eyes and mouth, which instructs the AI to recreate those parts of the image.

I also requested the AI to make these areas appear more realistic.

However, much to my disappointment, here’s the result:

I mean, come on. It’s so bad it’s almost laughable. Completely unusable and a total waste of credits.

In short, I wasn’t too pleased with my Try It on AI headshots. There were only a couple that I could use.

Plus, the edits didn’t improve the bad ones.

Alternatives

Fortunately, there’s a better alternative called BetterPic.io.

I even found a discount code for it — use JALLI10 to get 10% off.

You can check out a full review of BetterPic.io here.

But to keep it short, here are some of the results I got from BetterPic AI:

Aren’t these great? The last photo is still my LinkedIn profile picture!

I’m much happier with these results compared to the ones from Try It on AI — this tool is just in a different league.

Plus, the AI-powered edits are impressive.

I won’t go into too much detail, since you can find more information in the BetterPic AI headshot review.

But as a quick example, here are some AI-edited photos I got from it:

The way I did this was by simply asking BetterPic to change my outfit to a Christmas theme.

BetterPic is the only tool I’ve found that consistently delivers reliable AI edits on images.

Pros

  • One of the fastest paid headshot generators available (excluding ChatGPT)
  • Decent output, with some images potentially usable for social media
  • Offers versatility by allowing you to choose from a variety of styles before generating headshots

Cons

  • Far from being the top AI headshot generator, yet priced similarly to the best tools
  • Many results look morphed, unnatural, and can’t be easily edited — only a few come out well
  • Limited customization options

To Take Home

I’d use BetterPic instead of Try It on AI.

There’s nothing crazy wrong with Try It on AI, but it’s just not the best, not even close.
