I spent $61 on Try It on AI headshots to see if it’s worth it.
In this post, I’ll share my results and compare them with other AI headshot tools.

My Verdict
Try It on AI is not the best headshot generator.
Sometimes, the edits can make your images look like this:

I recommend trying BetterPic AI for the best results.
It’s just so much better than TryItOn AI.
I also found a coupon code. Use JALLI10 to get 10% off.
This is what BetterPic AI headshots look like:

That looks so much better, doesn’t it?
My Results & Experience
Now, let’s take a closer look. In this section, I’ll show you how to use Try It on AI. I’ll share my results, the edits, and how they compare to other AI headshot generators I’ve tried.
How to Use
Using Try It on AI is easy. Just sign up and pick a headshot AI photoshoot.

I bought the $61 package to get 100 AI-generated headshots.

Next, upload some photos of yourself so the AI can learn what you look like.

I ran into some problems at this step. The tool asks for a lot of different selfies, like full-body shots, half-body shots, and regular selfies. Not everyone has photos like this ready to use.

When you upload your images, make sure to crop them so the tool can see your face.
I kept getting warnings that my face wasn’t visible, even when it was.

The interface was a bit confusing. The images would upload, but it took about 5 seconds before I got any feedback.
Still, after a little struggle, I managed to upload all my images.

To make it easier to compare, here’s how I look in my real photos:

Next, pick your favorite AI headshot styles:

You can choose as many styles as you want. I picked 11 styles because I bought the $61 package, which gives 100 images.
Finally, enter your personal details. For example, if your images show different hairstyles, tell the AI which one is your usual style.

Then upload the images and wait. This tool is quick—it only takes about 10 minutes to create your headshots. (The fastest tool I tried before took 30–45 minutes!)
My Headshots
Here are the AI-generated headshots I got:

It’s okay. Not amazing, but not terrible either.
Here’s a side-by-side comparison of me and my favorite headshot from the 100 I got:

Pretty cool, right?
But most of the results were not great. Only one or two images were actually usable.
Try BetterPic instead! It was the best in my tests and research.

Now, back to the Try It on AI results.
Here’s a more typical example:

It still looks like me, but it feels a bit distorted, like a filter has squished the image. It just doesn’t look natural.
Here’s an even more extreme (worse) example:

It does look like me, but my head looks too big, almost comically so.
Still, some images came out pretty good. For example, I think this neon-lit photo turned out nicely.

Customizations
One interesting feature in Try It on AI is that you can enhance your AI-generated headshots using AI.

You can sharpen images, change backgrounds, regenerate photos, and more.
But these edits didn’t meet my expectations.
For example, here’s a low-quality image where my teeth and eyes look distorted:

I tried using the AI edits feature to regenerate the image:

In the screenshot above, I used a brush to mask my eyes and mouth, telling the AI to redo those parts.
I also asked the AI to make them look more realistic.
But, unfortunately, here’s how it turned out:

Honestly, it’s so bad it’s almost funny. Completely unusable and a total waste of credits.
Overall, I wasn’t very happy with my Try It on AI headshots. Only a few were actually usable.
And the edits didn’t make the bad ones any better.
Alternatives
Luckily, there’s a better option called BetterPic.io.
I even found a discount code—use JALLI10 for 10% off.
You can check out a full review of BetterPic.io here.
To keep it short, here are some results I got from BetterPic AI:

Aren’t these great? The last one is still my LinkedIn profile picture!
I’m much happier with these results compared to Try It on AI—this tool is on another level.
The AI-powered edits are impressive too.
I won’t go into too much detail here, since you can check out the full BetterPic AI headshot review.
But as a quick example, here are some AI-edited photos I got from it:

I did this by just asking BetterPic to change my outfit to a Christmas theme.
BetterPic is the only tool I’ve found that consistently gives reliable AI edits on images.
Pros
- One of the fastest paid headshot generators (excluding ChatGPT)
- Decent results, with some images usable for social media
- Lets you pick from different styles before generating headshots
Cons
- Not the best AI headshot generator, but priced close to the top tools
- Many images look distorted or unnatural, and most can’t be easily fixed—only a few turn out well
- Limited options for customization
To Take Home
I’d choose BetterPic over Try It on AI.
There’s nothing seriously wrong with Try It on AI, but it’s just not the best—not even close.
