What Is Walter Writes AI?

Walter Writes AI is a tool that makes AI-generated content sound more natural.

It’s easy to use. Just sign up, add your AI text, and click “Humanize.”

It will create a humanized version of your AI-generated text:

But does it really work? Can it fool AI detectors? Let’s find out!

The Results

To test Walter Writes AI humanizer, I did this:

  • I wrote 4 AI-generated text samples.
  • I humanized each one with Walter AI.
  • I checked the humanized texts with AI detectors.
  • I added up the scores.

Here are the results from the most popular AI detectors:

Content TypeWinston AIOriginality AIQuillBot DetectorUndetectable.ai Detector
Formal Essay7%100%100%49%
Casual Blog83%100%100%50%
Creative Writing0%100%100%36%
Technical Expl.1%100%100%99%
Total Average22.5%100%100%58.5%

In this table:

  • 0% means fully AI-written.
  • 100% means fully human-written.

From the table:

  • Winston AI detected that the content was mostly AI.
  • Originality AI was completely fooled.
  • QuillBot was completely fooled too.
  • Undetectable.ai was not convinced.

If we average the human scores, we get 70.31%.

That’s not good.

It means the tool only humanized text about 7 out of 10 times. That’s too unreliable.

For it to be worth using, the score should be around 99.5–100%, but it’s just 70%…

Walter Writes AI vs. ChatGPT

Since Walter Writes AI humanizer didn’t do well, I wanted to see if ChatGPT could do better.

I repeated the same process with ChatGPT, asking it to humanize my 4 text samples.

Then I checked the ChatGPT-humanized content with AI detectors.

Here are the scores I got:

Content TypeWinston AIOriginality AIQuillBot DetectorUndetectable.ai Detector
Formal Essay1%70%100%99%
Casual Blog19%100%100%48%
Creative Writing19%99%100%99%
Technical Expl.1%99%100%99%
Total Average10%92%100%86.25%

In other words:

  • Winston AI still saw most of the content as AI.
  • Originality AI was completely fooled.
  • QuillBot was completely fooled too.
  • Undetectable.ai was mostly fooled.

The average human score comes out to 72.06%.

Compare that to Walter AI’s 70.31%.

This shows that ChatGPT did a better job at humanizing AI content than Walter Writes AI.

Plus, ChatGPT is free.

Walter Writes AI only gives 300 words of free humanization.

In short, I’d choose ChatGPT over Walter Writes AI.

My Honest Take

I don’t use AI humanizers or detectors.

They’re just not reliable enough.

As a teacher, you can’t be sure something is AI-written just because of these tools.

As a student, you can’t humanize AI content well enough to consistently fool them.

Even if they did work, why bother?

Why not just put in the effort to create something original?

It doesn’t matter if something is AI-written or not. What matters is saying something new—sharing real experiences or insights that no one else has covered yet, not just rephrasing what’s already out there.
